A Blood‐Brain Barrier‐Penetrant Ag(III) Corrole Compound Rescues Alzheimer's Disease Pathology by Targeting Aβ42‐Induced Oxidative Stress

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 8, 9 February 2026.
The newly designed metallo‐corrole (Mor‐Cor)Ag(III) with a morpholino group exhibited promising therapeutic potential for Alzheimer's disease. It significantly reduces reactive oxygen species (ROS), decreases GFAP expression, increases neurite length, and decreases cell death compared to other similar metallo‐corroles. Abstract Alzheimer's disease (AD)

Mussel‐Bioinspired Edible Ca2+‐Crosslinked Alginate Hydrogel Electrodes for Glucose Gastrointestinal Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 8, 9 February 2026.
A fully edible soft electrode is engineered from Ca2⁺‐crosslinked alginate integrated with polydopamine, silver nanoparticles, and food‐grade glucose oxidase. The hybrid hydrogel combines ionic and electronic conduction, enabling efficient glucose‐to‐H2O2 conversion and catalytic reduction in simulated intestinal fluid.

Dual‐Anion Zn2+ Electrolytes having Sulfate and Triflate for Highly Reversible and Stable Operation of Zinc Metal Anode

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 9, Issue 2, February 2026.
Dual‐anion hybrid electrolyte engineering enables a mixed Zn2+ coordination environment, balancing solvent‐separated ion pairs and contact ion pairs to form a compact, Zn2+‐permeable interphase. This hybrid structure mitigates dendrite growth, dead Zn formation, and parasitic zinc hydroxide sulfate byproducts observed in sulfate systems, while ...

Crystal Phase Dominance Over Structural Confinement of ZrO2 for Enhanced Polysulfide Immobilization in Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 9, Issue 2, February 2026.
In this study, bulk monoclinic and confined cubic ZrO2 phases were synthesized. Density functional theory calculations showed that monoclinic ZrO2 exhibits stronger Li2S6 binding, which was validated via electrochemical tests highlighting its significantly improved battery performance.
