A FeN4─O/Clu@NC‐0.1Ac catalyst containing atomically‐dispersed FeN4─O sites (medium‐spin Fe2+) and Fe clusters delivered a half‐wave potential of 0.89 V for ORR and an overpotential of 330 mV at 10 mA cm−2 for OER in 0.1 m KOH. When the catalyst was used in a rechargeable Zn–air battery, a power density of 284.5 mW cm−2 was achieved with excellent ...

Electrochemistry of uranium in molten LiF–CaF2 [PDF]
This article is focused on the electrochemical behaviour of U ions in molten LiF–CaF2 (79–21 wt.%) eutectic. On aWelectrode, U(III) is reduced in one step to U metal and U(III) can be also oxidised to U(IV). Both systems were studied by cyclic and square

Powering the Future: A Cobalt‐Based Catalyst for Longer‐Lasting Zinc–Air Batteries
A novel N‐doped graphitic shell‐encapsulated Co catalyst reveals superior bifunctional ORR/OER activity in alkaline media, empowering outstanding liquid and quasi‐solid‐state ZAB activity. The system delivers long‐term durability, a peak power density of 127 mW cm−2 and successfully powers an LED and a mini fan.

A new insight into the oxidative mechanism of caffeine and related methylxanthines in aprotic medium: May caffeine be really considered as an antioxidant? [PDF]
Background: Antioxidant properties have been recently suggested for caffeine that seems showing protective effects against damages caused by oxidative stress. In particular, a HO% scavenging activity has been ascribed to caffeine. Even if the oxidation

Mesoporous Carbon Thin Films with Large Mesopores as Model Material for Electrochemical Applications
Mesoporous carbon thin films possessing 70 nm mesopores are prepared on titanium substrates by soft templating of resol resins with a self‐synthesized poly(ethylene oxide)‐block‐poly(hexyl acrylate) block copolymer. A strategy to avoid corrosion of the metal substrate is presented, and the films are extensively characterized in terms of morphology ...

MATHCAD – a Tool for Numerical Calculation of Square-Wave Voltammograms [PDF]
An alternative approach for numerical calculation of the square-wave voltammograms using the mathematical programming package MATHCAD is presented. A quasi-reversible redox reaction is considered and a mathematical model is developed under conditions ...
