Nonlinear dynamic analysis of gear-rotor-bearing system equipped with HSFD under hydraulic actuator active control

open access: yesJournal of Low Frequency Noise, Vibration and Active Control, 2021
In this study, the nonlinear dynamic analysis of the hybrid squeeze film damper mounted on a gear-rotor-bearing system is presented. The strong nonlinear oil film force, nonlinear rub-impact force between the rotor and stator, and the gear meshing force ...

A computational fluid dynamics investigation of the segmented integral squeeze film damper

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2019
Rotor vibration attenuation is achieved with damping devices which work on different, often mutually coupled, physical principles. Squeeze film dampers are damping devices that have been widely used in rotordynamic applications.

Coupling Vibration Analysis of Turbine Shared Support Rotor-Bearing System with Squeeze Film Dampers

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2022
The turbine shared support structure is used widely in aeroengines, but theoretical and experimental research on a rotor-bearing system containing a shared turbine support structure is lacking.

Calculation Algorithm for Squeeze Film Damper

open access: yesProcedia Engineering, 2015
AbstractThis work discusses a number of issues related to the selection of the squeeze film damper type. Here has been performed the analysis of works dedicated to this issue and it has been shown that today there is a large variety of damper designs. Therefore, the method allowing reasonably select the type of dampers and their parameters is required.

Design and application of squeeze film dampers for turbomachinery stabilization [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
The steady-state transient response of the squeeze film damper bearing was investigated. Both the steady-state and transient equations for the hydrodynamic bearing forces are derived; the steady-state equations were used to determine the damper ...

Analysis of subharmonic and quasi-periodic vibrations of a Jeffcott rotor supported on a squeeze-film damper by the IHB method

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2022
In rotors supported on a squeeze-film damper (SFD) with static eccentricity, subharmonic and quasi-periodic vibrations are generated by rotor unbalance. In this paper, subharmonic and quasi-periodic vibrations in a Jeffcott rotor supported on an SFD are ...

Nonlinear Identification of a Squeeze-Film Damper [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Tribology, 1988
In this paper the authors describe an experimental study to identify the damping laws associated with a squeeze-film vibration damper. This is achieved by using a nonlinear filtering algorithm to process displacement responses of the damper ring to synchronous excitation and thus to estimate the parameters in an nth-power velocity model.
