Analysis of Cattaneo-Christov heat and mass fluxes in the squeezed flow embedded in porous medium with variable mass diffusivity

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2017
This research article investigates the squeezing flow of Newtonian fluid with variable viscosity over a stretchable sheet inserted in Darcy porous medium. Cattaneo-Christov double diffusion models are implemented to scrutinize the characteristics of heat

Leak-rate of seals: comparison of theory with experiment

open access: yes, 2009
Seals are extremely useful devices to prevent fluid leakage. We present experimental results for the leak-rate of rubber seals, and compare the results to a novel theory, which is based on percolation theory and a recently developed contact mechanics ...

Graphene‐Based Wearable Textile Triboelectric Nanogenerators and Biomechanical Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study presents a wearable textile‐based triboelectric nanogenerator (T‐TENG) using sprayed graphene enhanced with a PVA adhesion layer. The graphene‐based electrode demonstrates high electrical conductivity and robustness to multiple bends. The fabricated T‐TENG provides stable and efficient output, with strong responsiveness to biomotion.

Dynamics of droplet formation in rotary flow focusing

open access: yesFlow
Rotary flow focusing (RFF) is distinguished from conventional microfluidic platforms through its capacity to accommodate wide viscosity ranges in both continuous and dispersed phases during droplet formation.

A non-squeezing theorem for convex symplectic images of the Hilbert ball

open access: yes, 2014
We prove that the non-squeezing theorem of Gromov holds for symplectomorphisms on an infinite-dimensional symplectic Hilbert space, under the assumption that the image of the ball is convex.

Quantum Groups, Coherent States, Squeezing and Lattice Quantum Mechanics [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
By resorting to the Fock--Bargmann representation, we incorporate the quantum Weyl--Heisenberg ($q$-WH) algebra into the theory of entire analytic functions. The main tool is the realization of the $q$--WH algebra in terms of finite difference operators.

Molecular Appendix Adjusted Architectural Propagations of Red‐Light Controlled Macroscopic Photoactuating Performances

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Amphiphilic chloroazobenzenes, bearing different amino acids as end groups alanine, phenylalanine, and valine, exhibit excellent photoisomerizations. Varying structures of three amino acid groups participate in supramolecular formations and therefore photoinduced morphological transformations via adjusting intermolecular interactions. These interaction

A comparison of the adomian and homotopy perturbation methods in solving the problem of squeezing flow between two circular plates

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2010
The objective of this paper is to compare two methods employed for solving nonlinear problems, namely the Adomian Decomposition Method (ADM) and the Homotopy Perturbation Method (HPM).

Interfacial separation between elastic solids with randomly rough surfaces: comparison of experiment with theory

open access: yes, 2008
We study the average separation between an elastic solid and a hard solid with a nominal flat but randomly rough surface, as a function of the squeezing pressure.

Landauer's erasure principle in a squeezed thermal memory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Landauer's erasure principle states that the irreversible erasure of a one-bit memory, embedded in a thermal environment, is accompanied with a work input of at least $k_{\text{B}}T\ln2$.
