Avian Eggshell Evolutionary Adaptations Inform Biomimetic Strategies for Next‑Generation Precision Cancer Theranostics

open access: yesAdvanced Oncology, Volume 1, Issue 1, December 2026.
ABSTRACT The avian eggshell is a sophisticated, multi‐functional biocomposite and, more importantly, an autonomous life‐support system evolved to safeguard embryonic development across dynamic and hostile environments. Discussing eggshell‐inspired biomaterials beyond simple structural imitation, this review translates these evolutionary survival ...

A Multi‐Analytical Approach for the Compositional Characterization and Chronological Discrimination of Benin (Nigeria) Metal Sculptures

open access: yesArchaeometry, Volume 68, Issue 5, Page 1022-1036, October 2026.
ABSTRACT This study presents a multi‐analytical archaeometric approach for the compositional characterization and chronological discrimination of Benin metal sculptures in relation to the 1897 Punitive Expedition. The methodology integrates elemental composition (XRF and ICP), stable lead isotope ratios (MC‐ICP‐MS) for alloy system characterization ...

Early Bronze Age Copper Circulation in the Guadalentín and Segura Valleys (SE Spain)

open access: yesArchaeometry, Volume 68, Issue 5, Page 1139-1151, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Identifying the sources of copper used in Early Bronze Age metalwork from south‐east Spain is key to resolving a long‐running debate concerning centralized control, or lack thereof, over El Argar society's economic organisation. This study provides the first substantial integrated programme of EDXRF and MC‐ICP‐MS analyses for copper‐base ...

Rodingite‐Derived Melt as a Recipe for Ultra‐Calcic Magmas

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 18, 28 September 2026.
Abstract Rodingite is a high‐CaO rock formed by Ca‐rich fluid metasomatism on mafic protoliths. It typically occurs within serpentinite and represents an often‐overlooked constituent of the altered oceanic lithosphere that may be subducted into the mantle.

Glacier‐Climate Feedbacks Modulate Last Glacial Maximum Dust Cycle Over the Third Pole

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 17, 16 September 2026.
Abstract Geological records indicate only a modest Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) increase in dust deposition over the Third Pole (TP), in contrast to the order‐of‐magnitude rise at high latitudes. Existing climate simulations, which generally prescribe present‐day or no TP glaciers, have struggled to reproduce this muted response.
