Studying Social Representations: an Outsider’s Perspective

open access: yesСоциальная психология и общество, 2022
Objective. The aim of this article is a brief look at the current state of development of the theory of social representations (SRs), and a discussion of problematic points of the methodology of the SRs analysis.Background.

SR-A ligand and M-CSF dynamically regulate SR-A expression and function in primary macrophages via p38 MAPK activation [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Immunology, 2011
AbstractBackgroundInflammation is characterized by dynamic changes in the expression of cytokines, such as M-CSF, and modifications of lipids and proteins that result in the formation of ligands for Class A Scavenger Receptors (SR-A). These changes are associated with altered SR-A expression in macrophages; however, the intracellular signal pathways ...

Molecular Etiology Disclosed by Array CGH in Patients With Silver–Russell Syndrome or Similar Phenotypes

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2019
Introduction: Silver–Russell syndrome (SRS) is an imprinting disorder primarily caused by genetic and epigenetic aberrations on chromosomes 11 and 7. SRS is a rare growth retardation disorder often misdiagnosed due to its heterogeneous and non-specific ...

Epidemiology and Reporting Characteristics of Systematic Reviews of Biomedical Research: A Cross-Sectional Study.

open access: yesPLoS Medicine, 2016
BackgroundSystematic reviews (SRs) can help decision makers interpret the deluge of published biomedical literature. However, a SR may be of limited use if the methods used to conduct the SR are flawed, and reporting of the SR is incomplete.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Stereotactic radiosurgery with or without surgical resection for pituitary adenoma: Insights from the National Cancer Database

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Neurosurgery, 2022
Purpose: Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) is an effective option for incompletely resected or recurrent pituitary adenoma. Herein, we evaluated the characteristics and outcomes of patients undergoing SRS for pituitary adenoma using a national cancer ...

A neutrophil-dependent pathway for the generation of a neutral peptide mediator: partial characterization of components and control by alpha-1-antitrypsin. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
A biologically active neutral peptide mediator is cleaved from a plasma protein substrate by an alpha-1-antitrypsin-inhibitable serine protease apparently residing on the membrane of the human neutrophil. The peptide mediator has an approximate mol wt of

Atypical neural responding to hearing one’s own name in adults with ASD [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Diminished responding to hearing one's own name is one of the earliest and strongest predictors of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Here, we studied, for the first time, the neural correlates of hearing one's own name in ASD.
