Ultra-broadband wavelength-swept Tm-doped fiber laser using wavelength-combined gain stages [PDF]
A wavelength-swept thulium-doped fiber laser system employing two parallel cavities with two different fiber gain stages is reported. The fiber gain stages were tailored to provide emission in complementary bands with external wavelength-dependent ...

In Yoo and Mainkar et al., we present a minimally invasive, CM‐selective modRNA delivery system encapsulated in lipid nanoparticles for intravenous (IV) administration. This platform enables selective cardiac translation of therapeutic modRNA but suppresses expression in off‐target tissues, including tumors.

Three-dimensional and high-speed swept-source optical coherence tomography for in vivo investigation of human anterior eye segments [PDF]
(SS-OCT) system, which uses a ready-to-ship scanning lightsource, is demonstrated. The light source has a center wavelength of 1.31μm, -3 dB wavelength range of 110 nm, scanning rate of 20 KHz, and highlinearity in frequency scanning. This paper presents

CD168 Identifies Proliferating Pancreatic Islet Cells in Murine and Human
This study identifies CD168 as a conserved surface marker for proliferating β‐cells in mouse, human islets, and pancreatic islet tumors. CD168⁺ cells show high proliferation and low insulin expression. CD168+ cells form mostly uni‐β lineage clones, and some of the clones are multi‐lineage.

Novel Insight into Morphological Features and Vascular Profile of Selected Macular Dystrophies Using Swept-Source Optical Coherence Tomography and Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography [PDF]
Our perception of macular dystrophies has evolved overtime from collective grouping into hereditary disorders of unclear etiology and no effective treatment to avid search for the underlying pathogenic mechanism that would provide base for future therapy.

Engineered GM1 Intersects Between Mitochondrial and Synaptic Pathways to Ameliorate ALS Pathology
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal neurodegenerative disease driven by genetic and molecular disruptions affecting energy balance, protein homeostasis, and stress responses in nerve cells. Studies using human and rodent models identified convergent defects in mitochondria and synaptic function.

Polarization-sensitive swept-source optical coherence tomography with continuous source polarization modulation [PDF]
We present fiber-based polarization-sensitive swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT) based on continuous source polarization modulation. The light source is a frequency swept laser centered at 1.31 μm with a scanning rate of 20 kHz.

IL‐4/IL‐13/STAT6 signaling plays a crucial for the suppression of pro‐inflammation during acute pancreatitis and supports acinar cell regeneration but has only minor impact on fibrogenesis during chronic form of the disease. IL‐4/IL‐13 induce the expression of certain collagens directly in pancreatic fibroblasts via STAT6 activation, whereas ...
