Abstract Laser cladding is a unique process for adding one material to the surface of another base material by utilizing high energy and coherent laser beam. For the present investigation, h-BN (hexagonal boron nitride) + SS316 composite coating was applied on SS316 substrate surface by fiber laser cladding operations.

Tritium uptake by SS316 and its decontamination
Journal of Nuclear Materials, 2004Abstract As-received and highly polished SS316 specimens were loaded with HT at 473–573 K. The uptake by polished samples was found to be up to five times that of as-received ones, when loading was performed immediately after polishing. This disparity vanished when polished specimens were subjected to a prolonged exposure to air prior to loading. The

Optimization of operational parameters in Al5052-SS316 explosive cladding
Materials Today: Proceedings, 2021Abstract Optimization of operational parameters to achieve higher tensile strength in Al5052-SS316 explosive cladding is attempted. The operational parameters viz., standoff distance, loading ratio (mass of explosive/mass of flyer plate), inclination angle and interlayer were varied in three levels, and their optimum levels were determined.

Role of Methanol on Pitting of SS316 - Preliminary Results
CORROSION 2004, 2004Abstract Localized corrosion of stainless steel particularly SS316 is not totally understood in aqueous systems. However, localized corrosion of SS 316 in non-aqueous solutions is even less understood or explained. The present effort is aimed at developing an understanding of localized corrosion of stainless steel in methanolic solutions.

Uniformity Analysis of the Passive Film for SS316 Stainless Steel
Key Engineering Materials, 2007Passive film of stainless steels possesses good corrosion resistant property. However, the passive film formed in nature is not uniform and the quality is not consistent. It is the major causes for local corrosion. The pitting potential test is a traditional method to test local corrosion of stainless steels.

Behaviour of SS316, with and without aluminization, in stagnant Pb17Li
Journal of Nuclear Materials, 1992Abstract Austenitic SS316 sheet material, partly aluminized, was tested in static Pb17Li (83 at% Pb and 17 at% Li), at 500°C. After 1000 h of exposure polished cross sections of pieces of the sample with and without aluminization were analysed by electron microscopy and compared with the as-received sample.
