Abstract Aims To identify the brain activity profiles associated with alcohol consumption and to address its causes. Furthermore, we sought to examine the relationship between these electrophysiological markers and the excitation–inhibition balance, as well as to explore the potential moderating role of sex in these associations.

Stability of Classification Systems for Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Four classification systems for irritable bowel syndrome were evaluated over 12 months. Stool form and psychological burden‐classification approaches showed the greatest stability, whereas most troublesome symptom and latent class analyses were less stable, emphasising the fluctuating nature of IBS. ABSTRACT Background Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is

Untangling nutrient co‐regulation of ombrotrophic peatland development
Multi‐method (FTIR, FT‐NIR and TGA) approaches characterizing the organic peat constituents at Holcroft Moss reveal a record of switches that reflect broadly hydroclimate variability governing the decomposition patterns. There are periods, however, where hydroclimate does not fully explain the variability observed and instead changes appear linked to ...

NePO: Neural Point Octrees for Large‐Scale Novel View Synthesis
We introduce Neural Point Octrees (NePOs), a scalable radiance field representation that organises point clouds hierarchically for efficient optimisation and rendering of large scale scenes. NePOs enable level of detail selection, joint refinement of appearance and camera poses, and real‐time rendering of hundreds of millions of points.

Dual action of imeglimin on insulin secretion and sensitivity in type 2 diabetes
Abstract Aims Imeglimin is a novel oral hypoglycemic agent approved for the treatment of type 2 diabetes in Japan, with dual actions to enhance insulin secretion and improve insulin sensitivity, suggested by preclinical evidence. However, the effect of imeglimin on tissue‐specific insulin sensitivity and glucose kinetics using glucose tracers is ...
