Optimal Nanoparticle Size in SiO₂/Al₂O₃‐Water Nanofluids for Enhancing Intercooler Thermal Enhancement: A Conjugate Heat Transfer Study

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
The simulation shows that the comprehensive heat transfer effect of using nanofluids as cooling liquid is greater than 1.30 nm SiO2/water and 40 nmAl2O3/water nanofluids have the best heat transfer enhancement effect, while all nanofluids of 30 nm Al2O3/water have the best heat transfer enhancement effect.

All the bedrooms a stage: Reconceptualizing sex as “performance” to sex as “rehearsal”

open access: yesFeminist Anthropology, EarlyView.
Abstract In the United States, sex is often spoken about in terms of performance, and naturally invokes language of theatricality. Sexual performance has been used as an umbrella term to refer to sexual satisfaction, behavior, embodiment, and also pathology in terms of conditions such as erectile dysfunction.

Circulating soluble suppression of tumorigenicity-2 and the recurrence of atrial fibrillation after catheter ablation: A meta-analysis

open access: yesBiomolecules & Biomedicine
Soluble suppression of tumorigenicity-2 (sST-2), a marker of myocardial fibrosis and remodeling, has been related to the development of atrial fibrillation (AF). The aim of this meta-analysis was to evaluate the relationship between baseline serum sST-2

Projected Warming of the Southern Ocean Disrupts Embryonic Development and Hatch Timing in Antarctic Fish

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology Communications, EarlyView.
Embryos are particularly sensitive to thermal challenge. Antarctic fish embryos raised at projected Southern Ocean temperatures hatch during the winter, have a high incidence of morphological abnormalities, have shorter body lengths, and express genes indicative of cellular stress.

Sea Surface Temperature Derived From FY-4A/AGRI

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
In this study, we develop an improved algorithm for retrieving sea surface temperature (SST) from the Advanced Geosynchronous Radiation Imager (AGRI) on the Fengyun-4A satellite (FY-4A).

First Analyses of the TIMELINE AVHRR SST Product: Long-Term Trends of Sea Surface Temperature at 1 km Resolution across European Coastal Zones

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Coastal areas are among the most productive areas in the world, ecologically as well as economically. Sea Surface Temperature (SST) has evolved as the major essential climate variable (ECV) and ocean variable (EOV) to monitor land–ocean interactions and oceanic warming trends. SST monitoring can be achieved by means of remote sensing.

Necessary HRM Practices for Extended Working Lives in Tight and Loose Societies: A Comparative Perspective

open access: yesHuman Resource Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The aging workforce demands evidence‐based human resource practices that lengthen working lives. Building on the Conservation of Resources theory (Hobfoll 1989), we investigate which organizational practices are indispensable for expanding older workers' occupational future time perspective (OFTP)—people's perceived opportunities and remaining

Validation of JAXA/MODIS Sea Surface Temperature in Water around Taiwan Using the Terra and Aqua Satellites

open access: yesTerrestrial, Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, 2010
The research vessel-based Conductivity Temperature Depth profiler (CTD) provides underwater measurements of the bulk sea surface temperature (SST) at the depths of shallower than 5 m. The CTD observations of the seas around Taiwan provide useful data for

Detection of recurrent endometrial cancer via DNA methylation analysis of cervicovaginal self‐samples and urine

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
What's New? Post‐treatment surveillance for endometrial cancer aims to detect recurrence early, potentially improving outcome. Emerging evidence suggests that DNA methylation analysis of self‐collected cervicovaginal and urine samples is a promising approach.
