2.HIGHER ST-SEGMENT ELEVATION IN LEAD III THAN LEAD II IN ACUTE INFERIOR MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION CAN BE A PREDICTOR OF SHORT-TERM MORBIDITY AND MORTALITY

open access: yesThe Iraqi Journal of Medical Sciences, 2020
Background:The incidence of mortality and complications are high in patients with acute inferior wall ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction with right ventricular involvement, which has been reported to be an independent predictor of significant ...

Gastritis Induced ST Segment Elevation on Electrocardiogram

open access: yesMarshall Journal of Medicine, 2018
ST segment elevation on an electrocardiogram (EKG) is an alarming finding that warrants an urgent coronary angiogram. Early diagnosis and intervention is extremely important in the setting of Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) to prevent irreversible ...

ST-elevation during biventricular pacing [PDF]

open access: yesEuropace, 2011
Pacemakers devaluate the accuracy of the electrocardiogram (ECG) for the diagnosis of myocardial ischaemia. We present the case of a 53-year-old man with ischaemic cardiomyopathy and acute chest pain. Besides biventricular pacing, new ST-segment elevations were present leading to the diagnosis of myocardial infarction.

Prognosis Between ST-Elevation and Non-ST-elevation Myocardial Infarction in Older Adult Patients

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2022
Background: Whether there is a difference in prognosis between elderly patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) remains mysterious. Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study by ...

Paclitaxel‐induced ST‐Segment Elevations [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, 2009
AbstractA 51‐year‐old woman presented with severe chest pain minutes after starting intravenous paclitaxel as a part of the systemic chemotherapy due to ovarian carcinoma. The electrocardiogram (ECG) revealed sinus rhythm with ST‐segment elevations in inferior and anterior leads.

Isolated Right Ventricular Infarction Mimicking Anterior ST-Segment Elevation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2016
Acute coronary syndromes in patients with presence of ST-segment elevation in the anterior precordial leads indicates left anterior descending coronary artery occlusion. However, anterior ST-segment elevation has also been described in right ventricular

Electrocardiographic Recognition of Unprotected Left Main ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesJACC: Case Reports, 2021
ST-segment elevation in aVR has traditionally been used for electrocardiographic identification of left main coronary artery (LM) myocardial infarction. We present two ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) cases with acute total occlusion of

Uncommon Cause of ST Elevation [PDF]

open access: yesCirculation, 2011
A 73-year-old man presented with severe postprandial epigastric pain that did not radiate. He had 6 episodes of emesis followed by retching. The character of the pain was different from past anginal symptoms. At his local emergency department, a chest roentgenogram revealed air presumably within a large intrathoracic hiatal hernia (Figure 1).

Adjunctive Therapeutic Plasma Exchange in Refractory Adult‐Onset Still's Disease Complicated by Secondary Macrophage Activation Syndrome: A Single‐Center Experience

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Adult‐onset Still's disease (AOSD) complicated by macrophage activation syndrome (MAS) carries substantial mortality. The role of therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) remains uncertain. Methods We retrospectively analyzed patients with AOSD‐MAS treated with TPE at a single‐center.
