Paclitaxel‐induced ST‐Segment Elevations [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, 2009
AbstractA 51‐year‐old woman presented with severe chest pain minutes after starting intravenous paclitaxel as a part of the systemic chemotherapy due to ovarian carcinoma. The electrocardiogram (ECG) revealed sinus rhythm with ST‐segment elevations in inferior and anterior leads.

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Changes in Electrocardiogram from Inferior Myocardial Infarction to Anterior Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesEurasian Journal of Emergency Medicine, 2016
We describe a patient who developed acute chest pain and ST-segment elevation in the inferior leads on electrocardiography. In his control electrocardiography after 15 min, ST-segment elevation was observed in the anterior leads.

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Extremely dangerous hypopituitarism related long QT syndrome and transient ST-segment elevation: A case report

open access: yesSAGE Open Medical Case Reports, 2023
Acquired long QT syndrome caused by hypopituitarism and transient ST-segment elevation has not been reported in cardiac arrest patients. We report a case of extremely dangerous acquired long QT syndrome and transient ST-segment elevation.

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Postoperative ST-segment elevation: Not a blocked coronary artery, then what?

open access: yesCardiology Plus, 2016
ST-segment elevation is well known for its diagnostic value for transmural myocardial infarction due to acute thrombotic occlusion of a coronary artery and often requires emergency reperfusion therapy. However, ST-segment is by no means pathognomonic for

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
