Metabolic alterations in human pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells treated with PDGF‐BB

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Metabolic abnormalities are considered to play a key regulatory role in vascular remodeling of pulmonary arterial hypertension. We analyzed the metabolome in the culture supernatants of human pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells (PASMC) during the malignant proliferation phenotype transition via a targeted metabolomics method. Significant and extensive

Decoding the Chemical Language of Ribosomally Synthesized and Post‐Translationally Modified Peptides from the Untapped Archaea Domain

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Secondary metabolites (SMs) are essential across all life domains, yet those originating from the Archaea domain remain poorly understood. Here, the systematic genome mining and the pioneering heterologous expression of archaeal SMs have revealed the chemical landscape of archaeal lanthipeptides, showing both canonical and non‐canonical forms.

Symmetry‐Breaking Strategy Yields Dopant‐Free Small Molecule Hole Transport Materials for Inorganic Perovskite Solar Cells with 20.58% Efficiency and Outstanding Stability

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A symmetry‐breaking strategy was used to design two isomeric D–A–D small molecules with 2,1,3‐benzothiadiazole or benzo[d][1,2,3]thiadiazole as acceptor motifs for dopant‐free hole transport materials in CsPbI₃ perovskite solar cells. Structural asymmetry can effectively regulates the dipole moment, energy level alignment, coordination‐active sites ...

Plastics of the Future? Interdisciplinary Review on Biobased and Biodegradable Polymers: Progress in Chemistry, Societal Views, and Environmental Implications

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Global demand to reduce polymer waste and microplastics pollution has increased in recent years, prompting further research, development, and wider use of biodegradable and biobased polymers (BBPs). BBPs have emerged as promising alternatives to conventional plastics, with the potential to mitigate the environmental burdens of persistent plastic waste.

Photosynthesis of NH3 from NO3– using CH4 in Homogenous Rhenium Catalysis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
We present Re catalysis of one‐pot synthesis of NH3 from NO3– using CH4 as a reductant under UV light irradiation at room temperature and normal pressure. NO3– leads to environmental issues such as water contamination, eutrophication and biodiversity loss.
