CHARNLEY STABILISATION OF THE HIP

The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. British volume, 1960
1. Ninety-one patients with Charnley stabilisation have been reviewed. 2. The patients' ages ranged from fifteen to seventy-eight, with an average of fifty-seven years. 3. Patients have been followed up for at least one year, the average period being almost three years. 4.

Suppression and stabilisation of noise

International Journal of Control, 2009
In this article, we investigate the stochastic suppression and stabilisation of nonlinear systems. Given an unstable differential equation , in which f satisfies the one-sided polynomial growth condition, we introduce two Brownian noise feedbacks and therefore stochastically perturb this system into the nonlinear stochastic differential equation . This

Stabilisation and set stabilisation of periodic switched Boolean control networks

International Journal of Control, 2021
This paper investigates the stabilisation and set stabilisation problems for a class of switched Boolean control networks (SBCNs) with periodic switching signal via a semi-tensor product method. First, algebraic forms are constructed for SBCNs with periodic switching signal.

Columella stabilising suture

Clinical Otolaryngology, 2007
Keypoints• Caudal septal deformities if uncorrected can lead to poor functional and cosmetic outcomes.• Adequate fixation of the septum to the maxillary spine is paramount in correcting these deformities.• We describe a simple technique for securing the caudal septum to the maxillary spine that stabilises it in all three planes.

Mast cell stabilisers

European Journal of Pharmacology, 2016
Mast cells play a critical role in type 1 hypersensitivity reactions. Indeed, mast cell mediators are implicated in many different conditions including allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis, asthma, psoriasis, mastocytosis and the progression of many different cancers.

Stabilisation in colorectal cancer

International Journal of Palliative Nursing, 1997
Stabilisation of disease (as well as objective response) is an important outcome in the treatment of cancer. To test the hypothesis that chemotherapy brings positive Quality of Life (QoL) benefits when disease stabilisation is achieved, a utility study involving 30 UK nurses experienced in oncology care has been carried out.

Warship Roll Stabilisation Using Fuzzy Control of the Fin Stabilisers

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1989
Abstract The problem of rudder induced roll motions in a modern warship is considered in this paper. The development of a fuzzy controller is discussed which uses roll and roll rate as input and fin demand as output in order to eliminate the undesired induced roll.
