Stability of active noise control algorithms

IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2001
This paper provides a stability analysis of a class of acoustic noise control algorithms by showing that the adapted models have more in common with nonlinear, finite impulse response (FIR) equation error models than with the infinite impulse response (IIR) output error models they superficially resemble.

On the Stability of Fuzzy Classifiers to Noise Induction

2023 IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems (FUZZ), 2023
Tabular data classification is one of the most important research problems in the artificial intelligence. One of the most important desired properties of the ideal classifier is that small changes in its input should not result in dramatic changes in its output. However, this might not be the case for many classifiers used in present day.

Localization stabilized by noise

Journal of Statistical Physics, 1994
We present a model which describes a quantum two-state system interacting with the environment represented by stochastic noise. We show that coherent tunneling between the two states survives if the interaction with the environment is weak. On the contrary, a strong interaction destroys quantum coherence and the system randomly jumps from one state to ...

Cell characterization for noise stability

Proceedings of the IEEE 2000 Custom Integrated Circuits Conference (Cat. No.00CH37044), 2002
Verifying whether a digital standard-cell design is functional in the presence of interconnect coupling noise is an important concern to ASIC designers. Determining whether the coupling noise occurring on a node is excessive requires comparing this noise against the dynamic noise margins of the receiving gates.

Noise trading and market stability

The European Journal of Finance, 2019
Noise traders are often thought to be detrimental to market stability, increasing volatility and the risk of bubbles and crashes. The effect of noise traders on the learning and development of informed traders, however, has received little attention. We consider a computational model of a derivatives market containing informed traders and noise traders

Stabilization of Linear Systems by Noise

SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 1983
It is proved that the biggest Lyapunov number $\lambda _{\max } $ of the system $\dot x = (A + F(t))x$, where A is a fixed $d \times d$ matrix and $F(t)$ is a zero mean strictly stationary matrix-valued stochastic process, satisfies ${1 / d}$ trace $A \leqq \lambda _{\max } $.

Stability measurements on noise sources

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2001
We report results of stability and repeatability measurements performed on a selection of different noise sources for selected frequencies between 12 GHz and 26.5 GHz. Measurements cover intervals classified as intermediate term (about 1 week) and long term (about 1 year or more).
