Suggestions for slope stability calculations
Computers & Structures, 1981Abstract Considerations for the selection of potential slide surface geometry in slope stability calculations by the limit equilibrium method are presented. Relations between the solution variables and the Mohr-Coulomb strength parameters for no failure on the interslice boundaries are derived.

Stability Calculations in the Process of Design
Aeronautical journal (London, England : 1897), 1922It cannot fail to be a subject for remark that in spite of the very large amount of work which has been done in this country on the subject of formal stability calculations, these calculations do not form a part of routine design of the majority of aircraft firms, nor are they used by the Air Ministry as a standard process of checking the aerodynamical

On the stability of neutron matter calculations
Zeitschrift für Physik A Hadrons and nuclei, 1973The problem of the stability of usual Hartree-Fock calculations of neutron matter with effective two-body interactions is investigated by using the second order variational equations. Sufficient conditions for instability are derived, which can be checked easily for a given effective potential. Numerical calculations are performed and neutron matter is

Calculating the stability of earth banks
Hydrotechnical Construction, 19681. The safety factors have different meanings and values for different methods of calculation, and are not comparable. For this reason it is difficult or impossible to correlate the existing data on permissible safety factors. 2. Calculations on slopes must be performed in a single rational sytem which permits us to accumulate data on ...

An Improved Longitudinal Stability Calculation
Journal of the Aeronautical Sciences, 1942The conventional method of calculating static longitudinal stability is improved by taking into account the moment of the fuselage in addition to the wing and tail moments about the center of gravity of an airplane. The general equation for the fuselage moment, which is always unstable or stalling, is derived and presented in terms of the dynamic ...

Kinetic Ratio as a Parameter for Product Stability Calculations
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1980A new parameter, the kinetic ratio, is suggested for estimating product potency during storage under ambient warehouse temperatures. Actual warehouse temperature data were integrated using Arrhenius kinetics, and the resulting potency errors, due both to the integration method and to temperature averaging, were evaluated.

Calculation of stability constants from photometric data
Talanta, 1973A method originally designed for the determination of stability constants by using a wedge calorimeter has been adapted to normal photometric measuring techniques. The calculations are simple and the method is especially suitable for use when the absorptivities of the absorbing species are unavailable because these species cannot be obtained alone in ...
