Theory and experiments on the stability of robot compliance control

IEEE Transactions on Robotics and Automation, 1991
The authors present a nonlinear stability analysis for constrained robotic motion, a maneuver where the manipulator contacts the environment. The external disturbances, sensor noises, parameter uncertainties, and the dynamics of the total system composed of the robot and the environment have been modeled.

THE DEVELOPMENT OF SELF-CONTROL: EXAMINING SELF-CONTROL THEORY'S STABILITY THESIS

Criminology, 2006
Research on self-control theory consistently supports its central prediction that low self-control significantly affects crime. The theory includes other predictions, however, that have received far less scrutiny. Among these is the argument that self-control is developed early in childhood and that individual differences emerging then persist over ...

Should control theory be used for economic stabilization?

Carnegie-Rochester Conference Series on Public Policy, 1977
Abstract In a genetic-historical view of the fundamental revolution in outlook which represents the real beginning of modern natural science was the discovery that the inert objects of nature are not like men, i.e., subject to persuasion, exhortation, coercion, deception, etc., but are “inexorable.” The position which we have to combat seems to rest ...

On Lyapunov Stability Theory for Model Reference Adaptive Control

2017 4th International Conference on Information Science and Control Engineering (ICISCE), 2017
Model reference adaptive control which are capable of exhibiting simultaneously several kinds of feature (e.g., automatically adjusting the controller gain, stabilizing the system, flexibility, adaptability, and robustness, and the like) are of great current interest.

On the Stability of Robot Compliant Motion Control: Theory and Experiments

Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement, and Control, 1990
The work presented here is a nonlinear approach for the stability analysis of robot manipulators in compliant maneuvers. Stability of the environment and the manipulator taken as a whole has been investigated, and a bound for stable manipulation has been derived.

On tracking theory with embedded stability: control duality resolution

Proceedings of the 40th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (Cat. No.01CH37228), 2002
It is shown that tracking and stability concepts and properties are in general mutually independent. The goal of control by its definition is to ensure required output tracking of a controlled plant. It is explained why a stability property need not he either necessary or sufficient for output tracking, and vice versa, in general. Control should ensure

Stability Considerations: Numerical Methods and Control Theory Equivalences

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 1987
Stability of difference equations is discussed from the viewpoints of control theory and numerical analysis. Several definitions used by numerical analysts are introduced and explained. A number of points of similarity and one of contrast between the two fields are presented.

The Application of Optimal Control Theory in Stabilizing Mine Grid

First International Conference on Innovative Computing, Information and Control - Volume I (ICICIC'06), 2006
In order to make system as possible as near target value in given time according to requisite control effect,....ontrol function can be selected based on the principle of optimal control in this paper. According to maximum principle of Hamilton function, required optimal control can be obtained from the solution of the nonlinear differential equation ...

Control of Synchronous Orbit Using Lyapunov Stability Theory

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1981
A state-dependent control law is proposed using the Lyapunov stability theorem and its usefulness for closed-loop control of a synchronous orbit is investigated. It is shown that a sequential scheme using a modified control law provides a more practical means of orbit control.
