Design Implications of a General Theory of Automobile Stability and Control

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers: Automobile Division, 1956
The lateral-directional motions of an automobile are studied by means of equations of motion derived for a vehicle assumed to have yawing and side-slip degrees of freedom only, and travelling at a constant forward speed. The equations are presented in terms of the automobile stability derivatives.

Stability of fuzzy control systems by using nonlinear system theory

Annual Review in Automatic Programming, 1992
In this paper we consider fuzzy control system as nonlinear control systems. We present an unifying framework of methodologies and summarize three different methods. The first one is based on the geometrical interpretation of the system dynamic behaviour in the phase portrait.

Synthesis of helicopter stabilization systems using modal control theory

Astrodynamics Conference, 1970
This paper presents procedures for designing controllers for complex dynamical systems using single- and multiinput modal control theory. It is shown that the design of the appropriate modal controller for a given system is greatly facilitated by the inspection of mode-controllability indices which constitute the mode-controllability matrix of the ...

A Robust Stability and Control Theory for Hybrid Dynamical Systems

2006
Abstract : The objectives of this work are 1) to develop a robust stability theory for hybrid dynamical systems, both in continuous time and discrete time, including a complete theory on the existence of smooth Lyapunov functions (which are the major workhorse for the analysis of non-hybrid dynamical systems) for hybrid systems; 2) to exploit this ...

Exponential stability of networked control systems based on impulsive control theory

2009 Chinese Control and Decision Conference, 2009
This paper studies exponential stability of networked control systems (NCSs) based on impulsive control with constant delay. A new application of impulsive control in networked control systems is provided in consideration time delay. By employing the method of Lyapunov functional, an exponential stability criteria is established.
