Indexation, Expectations, and Stability
Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, 1979THE RECENT SURGE OF PRICE MOVEMENT, coupled with a fairly substantial recession, has interested economists in alternative adjustments to chronic price inflation. By traditional neoclassical theory, increases in excess capacity would prove sufficient to dampen excess demand and reduce the rate of change in observed prices (perhaps about its expected ...

Stability assessment with the stability index
Quality Engineering, 2018Assessment of process stability is an important way to ensure high quality. There have been various approaches in the literature to assess process stability.

Probabilistic angle stability index
199 IEEE Power Engineering Society Summer Meeting. Conference Proceedings (Cat. No.99CH36364), 2003This paper develops a novel concept and computational framework of a probabilistic transient stability index called the expected angle stability margin, EASM, for electrical power systems. This new integrated index provides a common transient (angle) stability characteristic over a set of possible system configurations and contingencies, disturbances ...

Voltage Stability Improvement Using Voltage Stability Index Optimization
2020 International Conference on Power, Energy and Innovations (ICPEI), 2020Voltage stability improvement using line voltage stability index based on optimal power flow (OPF) in power systems is presented in this work. Line voltage stability index (LVSI) traditionally adopted to identify the most critical line in the system where its value is in the range of 0 (no load) and 1 (voltage collapse) has been applied as part of the ...

This article describes early models of indexing as well as more recent models that call for less indexing of wages to prices in order to imporve price and output stability. Policymakers may face a tradeoff: although increasing indexation may lead to macroeconomic instability, reducing indexation may lead to greater income inequality and labor market ...

Probabilistic voltage stability indexes
IEE Proceedings C Generation, Transmission and Distribution, 1991A probabilistic voltage stability index is proposed: the expected voltage instability proximity. To account for the system elements' forced outages, elements are represented by a two-state model. The resulting statespace is truncated by using a practical technique.

In this paper, the author proposes an algorithm to determine a stable Connected Dominating Set (CDS) for Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs) based on the notion of a metric called the Node Stability Index (NSI) of a node, defined as the sum of the predicted expiration times of the links (LETs) with the neighbor nodes that are not yet covered by a CDS node.

Voltage stability index for online voltage stability assessment
2015 North American Power Symposium (NAPS), 2015This paper proposes a voltage stability index to predict voltage collapse in power system. The index is based on maximum loading capability of the bus combined with a thevenin equivalent method for the aggregated representation. The technique is applied to transmission test system. Using thevenin equivalent calculated by fast load flow or PMU data, the
