A rational paleomagnetic stability index

Journal of Geophysical Research, 1974
As defined, the paleomagnetic stability index (PSI) describes the rate of change in millidegrees per oersted of the remanence direction of a rock specimen at each alternating field demagnetizing step employed: The PSI values characterize the demagnetization process in a sensitive and sensible manner.

Global Financial Stability Index

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2016
We develop a monthly Global Financial Stability Index (GFSX) that incorporates the global stock market outlook, momentum, and overall risk. Refining the financial stability concept presents challenges because of the many different approaches researchers have pursued, as well as the availability of periodic data.

Indexation and Monetary Stability

1976
The recent wave of two-digit inflation has brought with it a revival of interest in the idea, at least as old as Joseph Lowe [6], and embraced by such great names in the economics profession as Jevons [4], Marshall [7], [8], [9] and Keynes [3], as well as by Milton Friedman [2], that the widespread adoption of cost-of-living escalator clauses could ...

Local Voltage-Stability Index Using Tellegen's Theorem

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2006
Summary form only given. In the paper, the Tellegen's theorem and adjoint networks are used to derive a new, local voltage-stability index. The new approach makes it possible to determine the Thevenin's parameters in a different way than adaptive curve-fitting techniques, from two consecutive phasor measurements.

Nocturnal Glycemic Stability Index

ABSTRACTIntroductionThe Nocturnal Glycemic Stability Index (NGSI) is a novel quantitative metric designed to comprehensively assess overnight glucose stability by integrating amplitude, frequency, and temporal patterns of glycemic fluctuations. NGSI addresses this gap by providing a multidimensional, sensitive measure tailored to the nocturnal period ...

Stability preserving integration of index-2 DAEs

Applied Numerical Mathematics, 2003
The paper is a continuation of the article [ibid. 45, No.~2--3, 175--200 (2003; Zbl reviewed above)] by the same authors, published in the same volume. Again, possibly after reformulation, differential-algebraic formula method with properly stated leading term which are numerically qualified are studied under the aspect of preservation of contractivity

Stability preserving integration of index-1 DAEs

Applied Numerical Mathematics, 2003
The paper is concerned with differential-algebraic equations (DAEs) of index 1 and their numerical integration. The main topic is the investigation of conditions under which certain qualitative properties of the DAE, in particular contractivity or dissipativity, are properly reflected by their numerical approximations without stepsize restriction, when

Load Stability Index for Short-term Voltage Stability Assessment

2019 IEEE Power & Energy Society General Meeting (PESGM), 2019
Short-term voltage stability is closely related to the dynamics and stability of load models. After the identification of the load model parameters, the load stability can be analyzed. In this paper, a load model parameter based load stability index is proposed, with desirable properties of case independency, sufficiency and monotonicity. The composite

The stability index of graphs

1974
If G is a graph with vertex set V(G) and (vertex) automorphism group γ(G), then a sequence s={vπ(i)} i=1 k of distinct vertices of G is a partial stabilising sequence for G if \(\Gamma \left( {G_{S_n } } \right) = \Gamma \left( G \right)_{S_n } \)for n = 1,...,k. Here S is the set \(\bigcup\limits_{i = 1}^n {V_{\pi (i)} ,G_{S_n } } \)is the subgraph of
