Difference by instructional set in stabilometry
Journal of Vestibular Research, 2000There is no standard for the awareness of standing posture in stabilometry, yet little research addressing the matter has been carried out. In the present study, we evaluated the influence of different instructional sets during a test on stabilometry. Stabilometry was performed on 349 male subjects.

Stabilometry in otitis media secretoria
International Congress Series, 2003Abstract Twenty-five children with unilateral or bilateral otitis media secretoria were tested. Freyss' stabilometer with movable platform and head movement detector was used. The maximal and average amplitude of the platform and average velocity of the platform, and of the head were appreciated.

Rotary spectra analysis applied to static stabilometry
2011 Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2011Static stabilometry is a technique aimed at quantifying postural sway during quiet standing in the upright position. Many different models and many different techniques to analyze the trajectories of the Centre of Pressure (CoP) have been proposed. Most of the parameters calculated according to these different approaches are affected by a relevant ...

Factors affecting stabilometry recordings of single limb stance
The American Journal of Sports Medicine, 1984Stabilometry is an objective method for the quantitative study of postural equilibrium and has previously been shown to correlate to functional instability of the ankle joint. Stabilometric recordings of 25 soccer players did not confirm existing theories that an ankle joint injury itself produces a functional instability. Stabilometric re cordings of

Stabilometry in balance assessment of dizzy and normal subjects
American Journal of Otolaryngology, 1991Normal adults and patients referred to the Dizzy Clinic at the Medical College of Ohio had their standing balance assessed during combinations of normal and altered visual and somatosensory orientation conditions using a fixed-force platform to measure center-of-pressure translations.

Comparative Analysis of Methods for Evaluation of Stabilometry Parameters
Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 2011Cluster analysis of stabilometry results in 251 subjects (129 men and 122 women, age 20-60 years) was carried out. Four methods were used in the study: European stabilometry variant, Romberg test (European variant), Romberg's test (American variant), and Romberg's test (American Universal variant).

Balance disorders in headache patients: evaluation by computerized static stabilometry
Acta Neurologica Scandinavica, 2005The aim of the study was to investigate the occurrence of equilibrium disturbances in headache patients, during the interictal period, by computerized static stabilometry.Sixty-seven patients were studied: 35 with migraine without aura (MwoA), 12 with tension-type headache (TTH) in the episodic form (ETTH) + MwoA, and 20 with only TTH [10 ETTH + 10 ...

Head-tilting stabilometry in patients with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo
Auris Nasus Larynx, 2008One of the pathologic conditions underlying benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is degeneration of the otolith organs. In this study, we examined changes in the parameters of stabilometry under an upright condition and head-tilt conditions in patients with BPPV.We performed stabilometry on 21 patients with right BPPV, on 21 patients with left ...

Assessing the development of balance function in children using stabilometry
International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology, 2009This study assessed the development of balance function in children using platform stabilometry.A total of 251 healthy children aged from 3 to 12 years were enrolled in this study. Each subject underwent stabilometry under four various conditions (A: firm surface with eyes open; B: firm surface with eyes closed; C: foam pad with eyes open; and D: foam ...
