Reciprocal translocations and partial correlation of chromosomes in the stable fly

Journal of Heredity, 1981
An initial investigation of the genetics of the stable fly, Stomoxys calcitrans (L.), is described. Two recessive, autosomal mutants, carmine eye (ca) and rolled down wing (rd), were assigned to chromosomes 2 and 4, respectively. Sex is apparently determined by a locus on chromosome 1. Crossing over is restricted to females.

Chemical Induction of Sterility in the Stable Fly

Journal of Economic Entomology, 1962
Three compounds, apholate (2,2,4,4,6,6-hexahydro-2,2,4,4,6,6-hexakis (1-aziridinyl)-1,3,.5,2,4,6-triazatriphosphorine), aphoxide (tris(1-aziridinyl)phosphine oxide), and methaphoxide (tris (2-methyl-1-aziridinyl)phosphine oxide), induced sterility in male and female stable flies ( Stomoxys calcitrans (L.)) when applied topically to adults.
