Spectral density estimation for symmetric stable p-adic processes
Applications of p-adic numbers ar beming increasingly important espcially in the field of applied physics. The objective of this work is to study the estimation of the spectral of p-adic stable processes. An estimator formed by a smoothing periodogram is

The eutrophication degree in the coastal bay has been increasing significantly for the past years, due to the increasing nutrient discharge. However, the factors controlling sources and nitrogen (N) cycling in the different types of bays are still poorly

Particle filtering with alpha-stable distributions [PDF]
In this paper we introduce a novel sequential Monte Carlo technique, which is based on the family of symmetric alpha- stable (SAS) distributions.

A porewater-based stable isotope approach for the investigation of subsurface hydrological processes [PDF]
Predicting and understanding subsurface flowpaths is still a crucial issue in hydrological research. We present an experimental approach to reveal present and past subsurface flowpaths of water in the unsaturated and saturated zone.

Hadamard-Type Fractional Heat Equations and Ultra-Slow Diffusions
In this paper, we study diffusion equations involving Hadamard-type time-fractional derivatives related to ultra-slow random models. We start our analysis using the abstract fractional Cauchy problem, replacing the classical time derivative with the ...

Insertion and deletion tolerance of point processes [PDF]
We develop a theory of insertion and deletion tolerance for point processes. A process is insertion-tolerant if adding a suitably chosen random point results in a point process that is absolutely continuous in law with respect to the original process ...

Approximating Multivariate Tempered Stable Processes [PDF]
We give a simple method to approximate multidimensional exponentially tempered stable processes and show that the approximating process converges in the Skorokhod topology to the tempered process. The approximation is based on the generation of a random angle and a random variable with a lower-dimensional Lévy measure.

On the reducibility of affine models with dependent Lévy factors
The paper is devoted to the study of the short rate equation of the form \[ \text{d}R(t)=F(R(t))\text{d}t+{\sum \limits_{i=1}^{d}}{G_{i}}(R(t-))\text{d}{Z_{i}}(t),\hspace{1em}R(0)={R_{0}}\ge 0,\hspace{3.33333pt}t\gt 0,\] with deterministic functions
