Ellen (Ella) Stack

open access: yes, 1941
Date:1941Ella Stack and her family moved to Darwin in 1961. She was first employed for a few weeks mid-1961 by a local GP and then in 1962, Ella took over as long-term locum. She was one of two private practitioners in Darwin. Cyclone Tracy hit Darwin in

Lower bound on the running time of Pop-Stack Sorting on a random permutation

open access: yesCoRR, 2022
Pop-Stack Sorting is an algorithm that takes a permutation as an input and sorts its elements. It consists of several steps. At one step, the algorithm reads the permutation it has to process from left to right and reverses each of its maximal decreasing subsequences of consecutive elements.
