Malthusian Stagnation is Efficient
Malthusian economies are generally deemed inefficient: stagnated, highly unequal, and densely populated by a labouring class prone to high fertility.

Linking air stagnation in Europe with the synoptic- to large-scale atmospheric circulation
The build-up of pollutants to harmful levels can occur when meteorological conditions favour their production or accumulation near the surface. Such conditions can arise when a region experiences air stagnation.

This study presents a compact dynamic‐field‐driven nucleation and growth (DFNG) model that captures ferroelectric switching behavior under arbitrary voltage waveforms. It enables extraction of time‐dependent domain wall velocity and growth dimensionality, which can then be extended to device‐level modeling.

Connections between summer air pollution and stagnation
The body of literature on ambient air pollution suggests that atmospheric stagnation events trigger high levels of air pollution. In this paper we use fifteen years (2000–2014) of summertime in situ air quality measurements together with meteorological ...

In their introduction, the authors state, ``We study an oddity: the class of problems for which the generalized minimal residual (GMRES) algorithm, when started with the initial guess \(x^{(0)}=0\) and using exact arithmetic, computes \(m\) iterates \(x^{(1)}=\cdots=x^{(m)}=0\) without making any progress at all.

MHD THREE-DIMENSIONAL STAGNATION-POINT FLOW OF A MICROPOLAR FLUID
The steady three-dimensional stagnation-point flow of an electrically conducting micropolar fluid in the absence and in the presence of a uniform external electromagnetic field (E0,H0) is analyzed and some physical situations are examined. In particular,
