A new flow model for highly separated airfoil flows at low speeds [PDF]

open access: yes
An analytical model for separated airfoil flows is presented which is based on experimentally observed physical phenomena. These include a free stagnation point aft of the airfoil and a standing vortex in the separated region.

Wound Repair Using PVA–CA Electrospun Dressings and Cold Plasma In Vivo

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
In vivo wound healing evaluation of different treatments in a murine excisional wound model. (a) Representative photographs of wound closure at 3, 7, and 14 days post‐treatment for the different groups: Control, PVA‐CA, PVA‐CA‐Ag, NTP, PVA‐CA‐NTP, and PVA‐CA‐Ag‐NTP. (b) Experimental design showing six treatment groups with n = 18 wounds per group.

Predicted Gas Properties in the Shock Layer Ahead of Capsule-Type Vehicles at Angles of Attack [PDF]

open access: yes
A method for determining shock-wave shapes, stagnation-point location, and flow-field properties for spherically blunt bodies at angle of attack was developed. The method is applicable to perfect gas flows and equilibrium flow of real gases.

A Geomorphometric Approach to Estimate the Deterioration of Earthen Archaeological Sites by Rainfall and Diffusion Processes: The Huaca Chornancap (Eighth–14th Century ad), Lambayeque, Peru

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Rain‐induced erosion processes can severely damage Earthen archaeological sites. Huaca Chornancap (HCH; eighth–14th century ad) is a platform located in the Lambayeque region (Peru) exposed to seasonal rain due to El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO).

The slow recirculating flow near the rear stagnation point of a wake [PDF]

open access: yes
A model is suggested in which some of the important features of the circulating flow inside the two-dimensional near wake are derived by assuming a slow viscous flow. The theory considers the flow away from the body base.

Students as partners: A novel approach to developing a gamified anatomical learning toolkit using design thinking principles

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, EarlyView.
Abstract The practice of involving students in designing pedagogical resources, including gamified learning tools, is often underutilized. Traditionally, students are engaged in usability and efficacy testing of finalized learning tools, limiting their ability to shape the learning experience from inception.

Is the well‐known phrase ‘small is beautiful’ true of small transnational education institutions?

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract The purpose of this research is to consider the potential attractiveness of operating a small international branch campus (IBC). Drawing upon resource‐based and legitimacy theories, we examine the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats associated with the business model that is based on having a small institution size.
