Modified Oxymethylene Ethers Based on Technical Alcohol Mixtures and their Fuel Properties

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
A modified oxymethylene ether (OME) synthesis based on C5 and C9 technical alcohol mixtures was developed. The produced compounds can be employed as neat fuel or as blending component for fossil or paraffinic diesel fuels. The modification of OME offers the possibility to adjust desired properties, enabling the evaluation of new application fields ...

Irreversibility scrutinization on EMHD Darcy–Forchheimer slip flow of Carreau hybrid nanofluid through a stretchable surface in porous medium with temperature‐variant properties

open access: yesHeat Transfer, Volume 52, Issue 1, Page 395-429, January 2023., 2023
Abstract The significance of hybrid nanofluids in controlling heat transmission cannot be overemphasized. Therefore, this article scrutinizes the electromagnetized flow of Carreau hybrid nanofluid towards a stretching surface in a Darcy–Forchheimer porous medium with the occurrence of slip conditions.

Fines deposition during hydrotreating: Effects of catalyst size and bed arrangement

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract Fines deposition presents a significant problem during the hydrotreating of bitumen‐derived gas oils. The accumulation of fines leads to reactor clogging and consequently, pressure drop buildup. At critical levels, the hydrotreating reactor must be prematurely shutdown, resulting in substantial economic losses for refineries.

Making colonoscopy‐based screening more efficient: A “gateopener” approach

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 152, Issue 5, Page 952-961, 1 March 2023., 2023
What's new? Although colonoscopy is a widely used screening tool for colorectal cancer (CRC), it is relatively inefficient, as most of the screened subjects would never develop CRC even without screening. In the present study, use of a low‐threshold fecal immunochemical test (“gateopener” FIT) was investigated as a means of streamlining screening ...

Large Eddy Simulation of a Stagnation Point Reverse Flow Combustor

open access: yesHavacılık ve Uzay Teknolojileri Dergisi, 2019
The complex unsteady behavior of a stagnation point reverse flow combustor (SPRF) is investigated numerically with large eddy simulation (LES) approach using an open source flow solver OpenFOAM.

The Public Sphere as a Meaningful Arena for Volunteering Dynamics: The Case of a Rural Space in Northern Israel

open access: yesConflict Resolution Quarterly, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article examines the context of the rural public sphere as reflected in residents' consciousness of their volunteering potential. To this end, a qualitative study was conducted in two rural settlements belonging to the same regional municipality in northern Israel: one Jewish and the other Arab. The 32 interviewees who participated in the

Stagnation point flow of viscoelastic nanomaterial over a stretched surface

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2018
Present communication aims to discuss magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) stagnation point flow of Jeffrey nanofluid by a stretching cylinder. Modeling is based upon Brownian motion, thermophoresis, thermal radiation and heat generation.
