An empirical model for stagnation pressure gain in rotating detonation combustors
Proceedings of the Combustion Institute, 2021Abstract This work investigates the stagnation pressure gain in rotating detonation combustors (RDC) and its dependency on the geometry and mass flux of the combustor. Using a Kiel probe to directly measure stagnation pressure in the high-enthalpy exhaust stream, results are presented for a systematic variation of these parameters.

Pressure induced by a stagnating turbulent field
The Physics of Fluids, 1976The frequency spectrum of a pressure field resulting from turbulence stagnating on a body is shown to be related to the fluctuating dynamic head through a Fourier-like transform along the mean stagnation streamline.

Effect of welding variables on GTAW arc stagnation pressure
Welding in the World, 2020This paper presents the influence of welding current, electrode-workpiece distance, electrode composition, electrode diameter, electrode tip angle, shielding gas composition, and pulsed current frequency over the arc stagnation pressure of gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW).

A stagnation pressure probe for droplet-laden air flow
Journal of Propulsion and Power, 1985It is often of interest in a droplet-laden gas flow to obtain the stagnation pressure of both the gas phase and the mixture. A flow-decelerating probe (TPF), with separate, purged ports for the gas phase and the mixture and with a bleed for accumulating liquid at the closed end, has been developed.

On stagnation pressure increases in calorically perfect, ideal gases
International Journal of Heat and Fluid Flow, 2016Abstract When stagnation pressure rises in a natural or numerically simulated flow it is frequently a cause for concern, as one usually expects viscosity and turbulence to cause stagnation pressure to decrease. In fact, if stagnation pressure increases, one may suspect measurement or numerical errors. However, this need not be the case, as the laws

Microprocessor control of high-speed wind tunnel stagnation pressure [PDF]
The development and implementation of a control algorithm for the microprocessor-based stagnation pressure control system of the Penn State Supersonic Wind Tunnel Facility is reported. The gas dynamics and the controlvalve characteristics of this blowdown-type facility are nonlinearly related. A mathematical model was developed for the open-loop system

Stagnation pressure effect on Prandtl Meyer function for air
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part G: Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2016When the stagnation pressure of a perfect gas increases, the specific heat and their ratio do not remain constant anymore and start to vary with this pressure. The gas does not stay perfect. Its state equation change and it becomes for a real gas. In this case, the effects of molecular size and intermolecular attraction forces intervene to correct the

Recursive identification of stagnation pressure in wind tunnel system
2016 35th Chinese Control Conference (CCC), 2016Identifying an accurate model of the stagnation pressure on-line will benefit the design of the controller and improve the quality of the wind tunnel experiments. This paper focuses on the recursive identification of the stagnation pressure in the wind tunnel system.

Rotating detonation waves in annular gap with variable stagnation pressure
Shock Waves, 2021We consider a three-dimensional unsteady flow with one, two, or four rotating detonation waves arising in an annular gap of an axially symmetric device between two parallel planes perpendicular to its symmetry axis. The corresponding problem is formulated and studied.
