Stagnation Pressure Changes in Unsteady Flow

Aeronautical Quarterly, 1971
SummaryThe changes in stagnation pressure produced by movement of rows, arrays and sheets of vortices are derived. By applying Preston’s result for a single row of moving vortices to continuous vortex sheets, the time mean stagnation pressure downstream of a row of blades with fluctuating circulation is derived.

Pressure induced by a stagnating turbulent field

The Physics of Fluids, 1976
The frequency spectrum of a pressure field resulting from turbulence stagnating on a body is shown to be related to the fluctuating dynamic head through a Fourier-like transform along the mean stagnation streamline.

Isentropic air flows at high stagnation pressures

Fluid Dynamics, 1976
Calculations of the gasdynamic parameters of air using different equations of state for a real gas in one-dimensional formulation were carried out in [1-3]. The results from these papers are of a limited nature, as the equation of state of a real gas, which occurs in the system of starting equations, is valid for a quite narrow range of total pressures

Accuracy in Computational Aerodynamics Part 1: Stagnation Pressure

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1998
<div class="htmlview paragraph">For the computation of the flow around a car there is typically an overprediction of stagnation and base pressure coefficient by 0.02 and 0.07 respectively causing an underprediction of total drag by about 0.01 - 0.02.</div> <div class="htmlview paragraph">To determine the cause of the error in ...

Effect of welding variables on GTAW arc stagnation pressure

Welding in the World, 2020
This paper presents the influence of welding current, electrode-workpiece distance, electrode composition, electrode diameter, electrode tip angle, shielding gas composition, and pulsed current frequency over the arc stagnation pressure of gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW).

On stagnation pressure increases in calorically perfect, ideal gases

International Journal of Heat and Fluid Flow, 2016
Abstract When stagnation pressure rises in a natural or numerically simulated flow it is frequently a cause for concern, as one usually expects viscosity and turbulence to cause stagnation pressure to decrease. In fact, if stagnation pressure increases, one may suspect measurement or numerical errors. However, this need not be the case, as the laws
