Stagnation Pressure Changes in Unsteady Flow

Aeronautical Quarterly, 1971
SummaryThe changes in stagnation pressure produced by movement of rows, arrays and sheets of vortices are derived. By applying Preston’s result for a single row of moving vortices to continuous vortex sheets, the time mean stagnation pressure downstream of a row of blades with fluctuating circulation is derived.

Pressure induced by a stagnating turbulent field

The Physics of Fluids, 1976
The frequency spectrum of a pressure field resulting from turbulence stagnating on a body is shown to be related to the fluctuating dynamic head through a Fourier-like transform along the mean stagnation streamline.

Isentropic air flows at high stagnation pressures

Fluid Dynamics, 1974
Calculations of the gasdynamic parameters of air using different equations of state for a real gas in one-dimensional formulation were carried out in [1-3]. The results from these papers are of a limited nature, as the equation of state of a real gas, which occurs in the system of starting equations, is valid for a quite narrow range of total pressures

Accuracy in Computational Aerodynamics Part 1: Stagnation Pressure

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1998
<div class="htmlview paragraph">For the computation of the flow around a car there is typically an overprediction of stagnation and base pressure coefficient by 0.02 and 0.07 respectively causing an underprediction of total drag by about 0.01 - 0.02.</div> <div class="htmlview paragraph">To determine the cause of the error in ...

A stagnation pressure probe for droplet-laden air flow

Journal of Propulsion and Power, 1985
It is often of interest in a droplet-laden gas flow to obtain the stagnation pressure of both the gas phase and the mixture. A flow-decelerating probe (TPF), with separate, purged ports for the gas phase and the mixture and with a bleed for accumulating liquid at the closed end, has been developed.

The Effect of Nonuniform Viscosity on Stagnation Point Pressure

Journal of Fluids Engineering, 2011
For high Reynolds number flows the total pressure remains constant along stream lines. At low Reynolds numbers the total pressure decreases in a global sense due to the actions of viscosity, but it may increase locally in regions such as stagnation points. Previous studies have considered the case of constant viscosity flow.

A Pneumatic Probe for Measuring Spatial Derivatives of Stagnation Pressure

Volume 6: Ceramics; Controls, Diagnostics, and Instrumentation; Education; Manufacturing Materials and Metallurgy, 2019
Abstract This paper introduces a pneumatic 9-hole probe which can measure flow angles, stagnation and static pressures, and spatial derivatives of stagnation pressure. It does this through direct measurement at a single location, rather than empirical corrections using measurements at multiple points.

A Stagnation Pressure Probe for Supersonic and Subsonic Flows

Aeronautical Quarterly, 1974
SummaryThe usefulness of a probe which can sense the absolute value of the stagnation pressure in supersonic flow has long been recognised. In the past such a probe has not been available and therefore it has been necessary to infer this fundamentally important flow property from measurements of other properties.

Stagnation pressure effect on Prandtl Meyer function for air

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part G: Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2016
When the stagnation pressure of a perfect gas increases, the specific heat and their ratio do not remain constant anymore and start to vary with this pressure. The gas does not stay perfect. Its state equation change and it becomes for a real gas. In this case, the effects of molecular size and intermolecular attraction forces intervene to correct the ...

Randomised, controlled pilot to compare collagen and foam in stagnating pressure ulcers

Journal of Wound Care, 2012
Objective: To compare the clinical efficacy of a collagen dressing covered with a foam dressing with the same foam used as a primary dressing in stagnating granulating pressure ulcer patients. Method: Patients were randomised to receive either a foam dressing (Suprasorb P; Lohmann & Rauscher) as a primary dressing (group A), or a combination of a ...
