Initiation and stagnation of room temperature grain coarsening in cyclically strained gold films [PDF]

open access: greenActa Materialia 169 (2019) 99-108, 2019
Despite the large number of experiments demonstrating that grains in a metallic material can grow at room temperature due to applied mechanical load, the mechanisms and the driving forces responsible for mechanically induced grain coarsening are still not understood.

Assessment of the Impact of Stagnation Temperatures in Receiver Prototypes of C-PVT Collectors [PDF]

open access: goldEnergies, 2019
Concentrating Photovoltaic Thermal (C-PVT) solar collectors produce both thermal and electric power from the same area while concentrating sunlight. This paper studies a C-PVT design where strings of series-connected solar cells are encapsulated with ...

Effect of the stagnation temperature on the normal shock wave [PDF]

open access: bronzeJournal of Computational Methods in Sciences and Engineering, 2009
When the stagnation temperature increases, the specific heat does not remain constant and start to vary with this temperature. The gas is perfect; its state equation remains always valid, except, it was called by calorically imperfect gas or gas at high temperature.

Poincaré index formula and analogy with the Kosterlitz-Thouless transition in a non-rotated cold atom Bose-Einstein condensate [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
A dilute gas of Bose-Einstein condensed atoms in a non-rotated and axially symmetric harmonic trap is modelled by the time dependent Gross-Pitaevskii equation.

Rotation induced grain growth and stagnation in phase field crystal models [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. E 88, 020401(R) (2013), 2013
We consider the grain growth and stagnation in polycrystalline microstructures. From the phase field crystal modelling of the coarsening dynamics, we identify a transition from a grain-growth stagnation upon deep quenching below the melting temperature $T_m$ to a continuous coarsening at shallower quenching near $T_m$.

Effect of Stagnation Temperature on the Supersonic Flow Parameters with Application for Air in Nozzles [PDF]

open access: bronzeInternational Journal of Aeronautical and Space Sciences, 2006
When the stagnation temperature of a perfect gas increases, the specific heat for constant pressure and ratio of the specefic heats do not remain constant any more and start to vary with this temperature. The gas remains perfect: its state equation remains always valid, with exception that it will be named by calorically imperfect gas.

Aerothermodynamic Analysis of a Reentry Brazilian Satellite [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This work deals with a computational investigation on the small ballistic reentry Brazilian vehicle SARA (acronyms for SAt\'elite de Reentrada Atmosf\'erica). Hypersonic flows over the vehicle SARA at zero-degree angle of attack in a chemical equilibrium and thermal non-equilibrium are modeled by the Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) method, which ...

Impact of Stagnation Temperature and Nozzle Configuration on Rarefied Jet Plume Interactions [PDF]

open access: greenJournal of Spacecraft and Rockets, 2022
The canting axis of thrusters on space platforms, which likely operate in a vacuum environment with a high degree of flow rarefaction, is significant in order to create the desired torque for manoeuvring, maintaining orbit, eliminating perturbation forces, docking, etc.

Effect of stagnation temperature on supersonic flow parameters application for air in nozzles [PDF]

open access: greenThe Aeronautical Journal, 2007
AbstractWhen the stagnation temperature of a perfect gas increases, the specific heats and their ratio do not remain constant and start to vary with the temperature. The gas remains perfect; its state

Flat Plate Aluminum Heat Pipe Collector with Inherently Limited Stagnation Temperature

open access: goldEnergy Procedia, 2014
This paper presents a new flat plate collector technology based on heat pipes. The use of heat pipes can lead to several advantages over direct flow collectors: A simple hydraulic interconnection, an inherently limited stagnation temperature and substitution of copper.
