Heat transfer and ablation of carbon/carbon composites based on multi-field coupling

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2020
With the development of hypersonic technology, the demand for thermal protection material is continuously increasing. Carbon/carbon composites are widely used as thermal protection materials in the nose and in the leading edge of hypersonic vehicles ...

A Thermal-Hydraulic Model for the Stagnation of Solar Thermal Systems with Flat-Plate Collector Arrays

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
Stagnation is the transient state of a solar thermal system under high solar irradiation where the useful solar gain is zero. Both flat-plate collectors with selective absorber coatings and vacuum-tube collectors exhibit stagnation temperatures far above

Evaluation of the absorber temperature frequency function valid for evacuated flat plate collectors

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2022
The degradation of performances for solar thermal collectors is linked to the decrease of the absorber efficiency caused by diffusion process, strongly dependent on temperature.

Experimental Study on Critical Flow of Supercritical CO2 at Steady State and Model Verification

open access: yesYuanzineng kexue jishu, 2022
When the loss of coolant accident happens in a reactor, because of the high temperature and high pressure in the reactor and the low external pressure, the critical flow may occur at the break due to sharp depressurization and vaporization.

One-dimensional radiation-hydrodynamic scaling studies of imploding spherical plasma liners [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics of Plasmas 18, 072705 (2011), 2011
One-dimensional radiation-hydrodynamic simulations are performed to develop insight into the scaling of stagnation pressure with initial conditions of an imploding spherical plasma shell or "liner." Simulations reveal the evolution of high-Mach-number (M), annular, spherical plasma flows during convergence, stagnation, shock formation, and disassembly,

Novel approach to characterize the cross‐linking effect of liquid silicone rubber via cavity pressure analysis during injection molding

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 140, Issue 4, January 20, 2023., 2023
In this paper, the cross‐linking reaction during the processing of liquid silicone rubber in the injection molding process is illustrated by measuring the cavity pressure. This shows a characteristic curve when derived twice. This curve is attributable to cross‐linking. With this knowledge, processes can be optimized and costs saved.

Drag Control by Hydrogen Injection in Shocked Stagnation Zone of Blunt Nose [PDF]

open access: yesIOP Conf. Ser.: Mater. Sci. Eng. 1024 (2021) 012110, 2020
The main motivation of the current study is to propose a high-pressure hydrogen injection as an hybrid active flow control technique in order to manipulate the flow-field in front of a blunt nose during hypersonic flight. Hydrogen injection can lead to self-igition under the right environment conditions in a stagnation zone, and may cause thermal heat ...

The inflow in the Baltic Proper as recorded in January–February 2015

open access: yesOceanologia, 2016
Inflowing saline waters of the Major Baltic Inflow (MBI) in 2014 were recorded in the Baltic Proper in January 2015. After 12 years of stagnation, this inflow brought highly saline (about 20) waters into the Bornholm Basin.

Challenges in Elucidating the Free Energy Scheme of the Laccase Catalyzed Reduction of Oxygen

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 15, Issue 1, January 9, 2023., 2023
Bioinorganic chemistry: High potential variants of the multicopper enzyme laccase have a remarkably low overpotential for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). Understanding the precise underlying principles are potentially of great value in light of the energy transition wherein the ORR plays a crucial role.
