Numerical simulation of heat transfer features in oblique stagnation-point flow of Jeffrey fluid
This article concentrates on the characteristics of heat transfer in oblique stagnation point flow of Jeffrey fluid deformed by a linear stretchable surface. The surface temperature is higher than that of the ambient fluid.

One-dimensional radiation-hydrodynamic simulations of imploding spherical plasma liners with detailed equation-of-state modeling [PDF]
This work extends the one-dimensional radiation-hydrodynamic imploding spherical argon plasma liner simulations of T. J. Awe et al. [Phys. Plasmas 18, 072705 (2011)] by using a detailed tabular equation-of-state (EOS) model, whereas Awe et al. used a polytropic EOS model.

Cavitation Erosion Resistance of Additively Manufactured Materials
Cavitation‐induced wear can be found in many fluid power components. The effects of additively manufactured materials on the resistance to cavitation erosion were investigated, compared to conventional manufacturing. Mass loss and the surface structure were measured as the main indicators of cavitation erosion.

Effect of gas blowing on the head of thermal ablation vehicle
The reentry vehicle will encounter thermal ablation, especially at the stagnation point regime. A theoretical work has been done to analyze the thermal effect of gas blowing due to thermal ablation of surface material on the head of a general hypersonic ...

A cryogenic beam of refractory, chemically reactive molecules with expansion cooling [PDF]
Cryogenically cooled buffer gas beam sources of the molecule thorium monoxide (ThO) are optimized and characterized. Both helium and neon buffer gas sources are shown to produce ThO beams with high flux, low divergence, low forward velocity, and cold internal temperature for a variety of stagnation densities and nozzle diameters. The beam operates with

Integrated production scheduling method to reduce fuel costs of hot rolling Processes
In order to minimize the fuel cost for heating steel ingots in hot rolling process, it is important to plan (1) batch formation to increase filling rate in furnaces and (2) work schedule to reduce stagnation of ingots in furnaces.

Variable Legionella Response to Building Occupancy Patterns and Precautionary Flushing
When stay-at-home orders were issued to slow the spread of COVID-19, building occupancy (and water demand) was drastically decreased in many buildings. There was concern that widespread low water demand may cause unprecedented Legionella occurrence and ...
