Letting People in: Redefining Collaboration in Wildland–Urban Interface Governance

open access: yesEnvironmental Policy and Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Intensifying wildfire regimes and expanding human settlements into wilderness areas have heightened concerns about the wildland–urban interface (WUI) due to the associated increase in fire risk. However, the WUI presents broader social‐ecological challenges that go beyond wildfire risk and remain understudied.

General Framework for Multi‐Degree‐of‐Freedom Stiffness Matrix Updating for Iterative Solution Algorithms in Hybrid Simulation

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Iterative solvers are advantageous for handling nonlinear structural analysis problems. The iterative solvers often require updating the stiffness matrix, which limits their application in static and pseudo‐dynamic hybrid simulations because: (1) updating the stiffness matrix of a system involving a physical specimen is challenging; (2 ...

Performance of transonic fan stage with weight flow per unit annulus area of 178 kilograms per second per square meter (6.5(lb/sec)/(sq ft)) [PDF]

open access: yes
The overall and blade-element performances are presented over the stable flow operating range from 50 to 100 percent of design speed. Stage peak efficiency of 0.834 was obtained at a weight flow of 26.4 kg/sec (58.3 lb/sec) and a pressure ratio of 1.581.

Pandemic Im/mobilities, reproductive injustices, and assisted reproductive technology use among Taiwanese LGBTQ parents

open access: yesFeminist Anthropology, EarlyView.
Abstract This article examines how mobility restrictions imposed by governments during the COVID‐19 pandemic intensified reproductive and mobility injustices. It traces shifting configurations of privilege and inequality within marginalized groups whose reproductive desires remain legally and socially unrecognized.

Performance of single-stage axial-flow transonic compressor with rotor and stator aspect ratios of 1.19 and 1.26, respectively, and with design pressure ratio of 1.82 [PDF]

open access: yes
The overall and blade-element performance of a low-aspect-ratio transonic compressor stage is presented over the stable operating flow range at 70, 90, and 100 percent design speeds. At design speed the rotor and stage achieved peak efficiencies of 0.872

Forecasting Count Data With Varying Dispersion: A Latent‐Variable Approach

open access: yesJournal of Forecasting, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Count data, such as product sales and disease case counts, are common in business forecasting and many areas of science. Although the Poisson distribution is the best known model for such data, its use is severely limited by its assumption that the dispersion is a fixed function of the mean, which rarely holds in real‐world scenarios.
