Navigating Whiteness in Australia's Anti‐Racism Movement: A Duoethnographic Inquiry by Women of Colour Scholars

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper applies Critical Race Theory (CRT) to explore how whiteness operates within Australia's anti‐racism movement as a structuring force that shapes discourse, practice and policy. Despite the anti‐racism movement offering crucial spaces for resistance and reform, it remains entangled in Australia's settler‐colonial present and systemic ...

Spike Stall Precursor Detection in a Single-Stage Axial Compressor: A Data-Driven Dynamic Modeling Approach

open access: yesMachines
Operational safety and fuel efficiency are critical, yet often conflicting, objectives in modern civil get engine designs. Optimal efficiency operating conditions are typically close to unsafe regions, such as compressor stalls, which can cause severe ...

Stall Margin Improvements of Conventional Axial Flow Fans with the Reformed Casingtreatments.

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series B, 1998
At the first part of this paper, the experiments and results to the blowing and suction on a fan are presented, and it is found that blowing toward the down stream direction are more effective and blowing location is suitable on the leading edge side of blades.

Investigation and Prediction of Steam-Induced Stall-Margin Reduction in Two Transonic Rotor Fans

open access: yesVolume 8: Turbomachinery, Parts A, B, and C, 2012
A comprehensive investigation into the behavior of two transonic compressor rotors operating at near-stall conditions while ingesting hot-steam was undertaken. This type of inlet flow was similar to that experienced by naval aircraft during steam catapult launches and has had the potential to adversely affect engine performance.

Two-stage fan. 3: Data and performance with rotor tip casing treatment, uniform and distorted inlet flows [PDF]

open access: yes
A two stage fan with a 1st-stage rotor design tip speed of 1450 ft/sec, a design pressure ratio of 2.8, and corrected flow of 184.2 lbm/sec was tested with axial skewed slots in the casings over the tips of both rotors.

Study of Convective Flow Effects in Endwall Casing Treatments in Transonic Compressor Rotors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The unsteady convective flow effects in a transonic compressor rotor with a circumferential-groove casing treatment are investigated in this paper. Experimental results show that the circumferential-groove casing treatment increases the compressor stall ...

Owning Home, Finding Belonging: Relational Meanings of Homeownership for Migrant Healthcare Workers in Australia

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Migrant healthcare workers in Australia find themselves at the centre of three intersecting concerns, often presented as ‘crises’ in contemporary discourse: the ‘care crisis’, the ‘housing crisis’ and the ‘migration crisis.’ Yet their own perspectives on these issues are rarely foregrounded. This paper explores the role of homeownership in the
