A comprehensive sizing methodology for stand-alone battery-less photovoltaic water pumping system under the Egyptian climate

open access: yesCogent Engineering, 2016
This work introduces comprehensive sizing methodology to optimize a stand-alone battery-less PV water pumping system (PVWPS). The essential target for the battery-less PVWPS is storing water instead of electrical energy. The drawback of employing battery

A Toolkit for Targeted Neuromodulation of Striatal Direct Pathway Neurons Rescues Parkinsonian Motor Deficits in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An adeno‐associated virus (AAV) toolkit enables selective anatomical and functional targeting of striatal D1‐MSNs through retrograde transduction. Enhanced capsids and engineered enhancers drive robust transgene expression across murine and primate models.

Maximum Power Point Tracking Using Fuzzy Logic Control [PDF]

open access: yesPort Said Engineering Research Journal, 2012
This paper proposes an intelligent control method for the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) of a photovoltaic system under variable temperature and insolation conditions. This method uses a fuzzy logic controller applied to a DCDC converter device. The

Optimization of a PV-wind-Diesel Hybrid System for a Remote Stand-alone Application

open access: yesEnergy Procedia, 2015
AbstractHybrid systems are an interesting solution for the electrification of isolated consumers, which often make use only of diesel generators. In particular, the possibility of including renewable energy sources, particularly wind and PV, is being increasingly appreciated.

Interfacial Engineering by Metallic Ions and Organic Ammonium Ligand Passivation for Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A synergistic approach using phenethylammonium iodide (PEAI) and antimony iodide (SbI3) enhances the operational stabilities of perovskite solar cells by providing p‐type doping effect, suitable band energy alignment, reduced defect density, and minimized surface ion vacancies in the perovskite films.

An Activity‐Dependent NEPAS–PTX3 Axis Links Neurovascular and Myelin Deficits to Cognitive Impairment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An activity‐dependent pathway links prefrontal circuit hypoactivity to cognitive impairment. Reduced PVA–mPFC activity upregulates NEPAS, which suppresses PTX3 secretion, leading to impaired angiogenesis, myelin deficits, and memory decline. Rescue is achieved by NEPAS knockdown or chemogenetic circuit activation.

Design and Analysis of a Stand-Alone PV System for a Rural House in Pakistan

open access: yesInternational Journal of Photoenergy, 2019
In this paper, thermal modeling of a typical rural house in Pakistan has been done using BEopt, to determine the hourly load profile. Using the load data, the design of a stand-alone PV system has been completed using HOMER Pro.

Hydrogen (H2) Recovery From Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S): Current Technologies, Challenges, and Future Outlook

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) can be transformed into hydrogen (H2) through several chemical and catalytic processes, offering a promising route for both waste treatment and clean H2 production. This colorless, flammable, and toxic gas is found abundantly in swamps, volcanoes, hot springs, sewages, other natural gas fields, and even in refineries and
