Stand Establishment Effects of Furadan, 1990

Insecticide and Acaricide Tests, 1991
Abstract Experimental plots measuring 2.4 × 30.5 m (8 × 100 ft) were marked out in a recently prepared alfalfa seed bed in Freeville, NY. Furadan was sprayed and shallowly incorporated prior to planting. The seed bed was then planted with a Brillion seeder. Soils were gravel loam.

Stand establishment in pulse crops

1988
There are specific optimum requirements for each group of crops, and sometimes for individual crops or genotypes, with respect to tillage and seedbed preparation. Tillage practices affect the seed and root environment and so the germination and seedling emergence of crops, as well as plant growth and yield. The factors affected include soil temperature,

STAND ESTABLISHMENT TECHNOLOGIES FOR PROCESSING CARROTS

Acta Horticulturae, 2004
Achieving an optimal crop stand, especially in mineral soils, has been a great challenge in carrot production. Cool soil temperatures, crusting and low moisture availability are some of the factors that contribute to poor germination, slow seedling emergence and reduced vigor. Several anticrustants such as humic acid, orthophosphoric acid and F-68 were

Stand establishment.

2012
Abstract This chapter describes the impact of physiological, chemical and biological agents (including plant growth regulators, endophytes, and vesicular arbuscular mycorrhizas) on key morphological and physiological adaptive mechanisms that peppers (Capsicum spp.) use to cope with abiotic stress (heat and cold stress, drought, nutrition ...

Management Options for Sugarbeet Stand Establishment

Journal of Sugarbeet Research, 1992
A large part of a sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L.) grower's cost of production is the cost of obtaining an adequate stand of weed-free sugarbeet. Field experiments were conducted at four locations in Wyoming during 1990 to demonstrate the economic benefits of planting to stand and sequential preplant and postemergence herbicide treatments com pared to ...

Lettuce Stand Establishment with Improved Seed Pellets

Transactions of the ASAE, 1983
ABSTRACT IN a comparison of seven new commercial lettuce seed pelleting materials Splitkote, Splitkote D, and Seedcoat showed significantly faster rates of emergence than others tested. For each day the emergence period is shortened in Imperial Valley, there are potential savings of $139,500 and a probability of more uniform sized heads at harvest.

Economic analysis of stand establishment for Scots pine

Canadian Journal of Forest Research, 2006
Experimental data, a process-based forest growth model, and stand-level economic optimization were combined to investigate financial returns from investments for establishing Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) stands in southern Finland. Four regeneration methods (planting, sowing, and natural regeneration with 25 or 100 seed trees·ha–1) and three ...

Herbicide and Variety Effects on Sugarbeet Stand Establishment

Journal of Sugarbeet Research, 1990
(…) A possibility of a preplant herbicide X variety interaction was noted in 1988, so the number of preplant treatments and locations was expanded in 1989, with all treatments planted at one depth and treated with postemergence herbicide. (…)

Establishing Climate Change Standing: A New Approach

Pace Environmental Law Review, 2019
Climate change is one of the thorniest political, legal, and economic issues of our time. Therefore, a new legal approach to the issue is required. This Note proposes a streamlined approach for climate change standing, one that assumes injury in fact and causation for a class of discernible climate change harms.
