Standard Automated Perimetry

2016
This chapter aims to describe and update several aspects on visual field testing in glaucoma, including its fundaments, methodology, and illustrations. First, basic aspects on the visual field and standard automated perimetry are considered. Next, the importance of quality of results for both single field analysis and visual field series is emphasized ...

Comparison of High-pass Resolution Perimetry and Standard Automated Perimetry in Glaucoma

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1995
We sought to ascertain whether high-pass resolution perimetry would provide results comparable to those of standard perimetry.Thirty-four eyes with primary open-angle glaucoma, 37 eyes suspected of having glaucoma, and 36 normal control eyes were matched for age and lens density. We controlled for refraction, pupil size, and learning effects.

Visual Field Plots: A Comparison Study Between Standard Automated Perimetry and Eye Movement Perimetry

Journal of Glaucoma, 2020
Précis: This eye movement perimetry (EMP) study describes the development of saccadic reaction time (SRT)-based visual field plots, which could effectively display the presence, location, and extent of glaucomatous defects and support clinical decision-making.

Repeatability of Online Circular Contrast Perimetry Compared to Standard Automated Perimetry

Journal of Glaucoma
Précis: Online circular contrast perimetry provides visual field assessment on any computer or tablet with no extra hardware. It has good test repeatability and reliability that is comparable with standard automated perimetry.

Relationship between flicker FDF perimetry and standard automated perimetry in glaucoma patients

Acta Ophthalmologica, 2010
Abstract Purpose To compare the main indices of flicker FDF perimetry (FDF, Heidelberg Engineering, Germany) with standard automated perimetry (SAP) in glaucoma patients. Methods Twenty‐three open‐angle glaucoma patients were prospectively and consecutively selected. Glaucomatous patients had an intraocular pressure higher than 21 mmHg and glaucomatous

Comparison of Size Modulation Standard Automated Perimetry and Conventional Standard Automated Perimetry with a 10-2 Test Program in Glaucoma Patients

Current Eye Research, 2017
This prospective observational study compared the performance of size modulation standard automated perimetry with the Octopus 600 10-2 test program, with stimulus size modulation during testing, based on stimulus intensity and conventional standard automated perimetry, with that of the Humphrey 10-2 test program in glaucoma patients.Eighty-seven eyes ...

Standard automated perimetry and algorithms for monitoring glaucoma progression

2008
Despite increasingly sophisticated techniques for the computerized analysis of the optic nerve and retinal nerve fiber layer, standard automated perimetry (SAP) is still the primary test for assessing functional damage in glaucoma. Most of the diseases affecting the visual field can be studied analyzing the central visual field with a fixed grid of ...

Glaucoma diagnostic performance of humphrey matrix and standard automated perimetry

Japanese Journal of Ophthalmology, 2009
To evaluate and compare the performance of Humphrey Matrix perimetry (Matrix) and standard automated perimetry (SAP) for glaucoma discrimination.Forty-seven healthy and 68 glaucomatous subjects were included in this study. Glaucoma was defined as having a glaucomatous optic disc and a nerve fiber indicator (NFI) GDx VCC scanning laser polarimetry score

Short-Wavelength Automated Perimetry and Standard Perimetry in the Detection of Progressive Optic Disc Cupping

Archives of Ophthalmology, 2000
To compare progression in short-wavelength automated perimetry (SWAP) and white-on-white (standard) perimetry in eyes with progressive glaucomatous changes of the optic disc detected by serial stereophotographs.Forty-seven glaucoma patients with at least 2 disc stereophotographs more than 2 years apart, along with standard perimetry and SWAP ...

Influence of Multifocal Intraocular Lenses on Standard Automated Perimetry Test Results

JAMA Ophthalmology, 2012
AbstractPurpose To evaluate the influence of multifocal intraocular lenses (MFIOLs) on standard automated perimetry (SAP) and size V perimetry test results. Methods Sixteen eyes of 16 patients with a diffractive MFIOL (median age 64 years) and 45 phakic eyes of 45 healthy subjects (median age 49 years) were included in this cross‐sectional case‐control ...
