Control of Coupled Standard Map

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 1998
In this work, we extend the periodic impulsive method to high-dimensional conservative system, and use the coupled standard map as an example to illustrate how to control the high-dimensional Hamiltonian chaos. When the periodic pulse is applied to one variable of the system, different periodic windows, quasiperiodic orbit and some special structure ...

Diffusion in a collisional standard map

Chaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science, 2012
Test particle evaluation of the diffusion coefficient in the presence of magnetic field fluctuations and binary collisions is presented. Chaotic magnetic field lines originate from resonant magnetic perturbations (RMPs). To lowest order, charged particles follow magnetic field lines.

Mapping standards for home networking

Computer Standards & Interfaces, 2009
In this study, we apply a step-by-step apporach for the identification of standards for home networking. We develop a classification and we use this classification to categorize sixty-four (sets of) standards. By developing this categorization, we have brought order to the chaos of home networking standards.

Mapping Educational Standards to the Big6

2014
Information literacy is arguably the essential 21st century skill set for all students, and as such, it is important that students have a solid grounding in information problem-solving, the application of information literacy skills. A wide variety of authorities have called for these skills to be incorporated into educational standards both in the ...

Standard maps of chromosome 10

Annals of Human Genetics, 1990
SUMMARYTo achieve consensus more exact definitions of genetical maps are required, of which standard, comprehensive and skeletal might be some. A standard genetic map gives distance from pter in centimorgans (cM), uses the international nomenclature for assigned loci, is sex‐specific, and allows as well as possible for interference and typing errors. Localization in a coupled standard map lattice

Physica D: Nonlinear Phenomena, 1998
The authors deal with the dynamics of quasi-periodic and chaotic ``almost breathers''. They consider excitations in a lattice of coupled standard maps. Localized periodic solutions can be found in analogy to breathers in a continuous-time oscillator lattice.

The Standard Map and a Probabilistic Conjecture

Mathematische Nachrichten, 2000
A well-known conjecture on a class of dynamical systems including the standard map is stated and its natural probabilistic analogue is defined for a certain randomized approximation of the original deterministic dynamical system (standard map). The main result of the paper is the proof of this probabilistic conjecture.
