Ablation of LRP6 in alpha‐smooth muscle actin‐expressing cells abrogates lung inflammation and fibrosis upon bleomycin‐induced lung injury

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Low‐density lipoprotein receptor‐related protein 6 (LRP6) is a key receptor for the Wnt antagonist Dickkopf1 (DKK1). DKK1 protein expression is induced in a bleomycin (BLM)‐induced lung injury model. We show that DKK1 induces proinflammatory and profibrotic genes in lung fibroblasts.

On Non-standard Models of Arithmetic with Uncountable Standard Systems [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
In 1960s, Dana Scott gave a recursion theoretic characterization of standard systems of countable non-standard models of arithmetic, i.e., collections of sets of standard natural numbers coded in non-standard models. Later, Knight and Nadel proved that Scott's characterization also applies to non-standard models of arithmetic with cardinality $\aleph_1$

Characteristics of the Kelch domain containing (KLHDC) subfamily and relationships with diseases

open access: yesFEBS Letters, Volume 599, Issue 8, Page 1094-1112, April 2025.
The Kelch protein superfamily includes 63 members, with the KLHDC subfamily having 10 proteins. While their functions are not fully understood, recent advances in KLHDC2's structure and role in protein degradation have highlighted its potential for drug development, especially in PROTAC therapies.

The apo LETM1 F‐EF‐hand adopts a closed conformation that underlies a multi‐modal sensory role in mitochondria

open access: yesFEBS Letters, Volume 599, Issue 7, Page 971-988, April 2025.
We present the first solution structure of the Ca2+‐depleted LETM1 F‐EF‐hand through a D676A/N678A Ca2+ binding‐deficient mutant, revealing a closed hydrophobic cleft caused by a unique F1‐helix pivot. The apo LETM1 F‐EF‐hand exhibits regiospecific hot and cold unfolding, sensitivity to physiological pH changes and potential for promiscuous heterotypic

Analysis and improvement of an identity-based signature scheme from lattices

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2015
Liu et al proposed an identity-based signature from lattices in 2013,and proved that it can achieve strong un-forgeability in the standard model.Through analysis, the security proof of this scheme has some defect, and then show that the scheme cannot prove

Insertion of the FeB cofactor in cNORs lacking metal inserting chaperones

open access: yesFEBS Letters, Volume 599, Issue 9, Page 1269-1284, May 2025.
Nitric oxide reductase is an enzyme found in the bacterial denitrification pathway. The NOR active site contains a non‐heme iron, often, but not always inserted with the assistance of chaperones. Here, we study the insertion of FeB in the subfamily of cNORs lacking chaperones and found a putative channel, conserved in the family, perhaps enabling the ...

Quantum Field Theory and the Electroweak Standard Model [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
Lecture notes with a brief introduction to Quantum field theory and the Standard Model are presented. The lectures were given at the 2017 European School of High-Energy Physics. The main features, the present status, and problems of the Standard Model are discussed.

Structural and mechanistic basis for the regulation of the chloroplast signal recognition particle by (p)ppGpp

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LHCPs are transported to the thylakoid membrane via the (cp)SRP pathway. This process involves a transit complex of (cp)SRP43, (cp)SRP54 and LHCP, which interacts with (cp)FtsY and Alb3 at the membrane. GTP hydrolysis by (cp)SRP54 and (cp)FtsY triggers complex dissociation.
