Certificate-based hybrid encryption scheme in the standard model

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2009
For construction a public cryptosystem that requiring fewer infrastructures than public key infrastructure(PKI),a certificate-based public-key encryption(CBE) scheme was proposed by Gentry. In CBE scheme,a certification was signed by a third part on an ...

Taurine promotes glucagon‐like peptide‐1 secretion in enteroendocrine L cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Taurine, a sulfur‐containing amino acid, is likely taken up by enteroendocrine L cells via the taurine transporter. This process increases the levels of cytosolic ATP. The increase in intracellular Ca2+ concentrations and glucagon‐like peptide‐1 secretion through membrane depolarization is caused by the closure of ATP‐sensitive potassium channels ...

Status of the Standard Model [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1998
We review the experimental and theoretical status of the standard electroweak theory, and its fundamental parameters. We obtain the global best fit result for the Standard Model Higgs boson of M_H = 107^{+67}_{-45} GeV, and find the 95% upper limit of 255 GeV. Parameters describing physics beyond the Standard Model are discussed as well.

Making tau amyloid models in vitro: a crucial and underestimated challenge

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review highlights the challenges of producing in vitro amyloid assemblies of the tau protein. We review how accurately the existing protocols mimic tau deposits found in the brain of patients affected with tauopathies. We discuss the important properties that should be considered when forming amyloids and the benchmarks that should be used to ...

K and B Physics: a way beyond the Standard Model [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1992
I review some aspects of $K$ and $B$ physics both in the context of the standard model and in some cases in a scenario which is rather different from the standard model. I discuss, in particular, where we are likely to see deviations from the standard model in the near future before new colliders are built.

Analysis and improvement of a password-based authenticated key exchange protocol

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2010
The security of a recently proposed password-based authenticated key exchange protocol was analyzed. Al- though it was provably secure in the standard model, it was vulnerable to reflection attacks.

Unraveling Mycobacterium tuberculosis acid resistance and pH homeostasis mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mycobacterium tuberculosis exhibits a remarkable resilience to acid stress. In this Review, we discuss some of the molecular mechanisms and metabolic pathways used by the tubercle bacilli to adapt and resist host‐mediated acid stress. Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) is a successful pathogen that has developed a variety of strategies to survive and ...

What is the Standard Model Higgs ? [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1999
It is shown that in the Standard Model, the property of charge quantization holds for a Higgs with arbitrary isospin and hypercharge. These defining quantum numbers of the Higgs remain unconstrained while the whole basic and fundamental structure of the Standard Model remains intact. Hence it is shown that the Higgs cannot be a physical particle. Higgs

The solution supramolecular structure of α2 → 8 polysialic acid suggests a structural cause for its low immunogenicity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
α2 → 8 polysialic acid elicits poor immunogenicity. Small‐angle scattering shows a supramolecular structure with parallel‐chain binding, although in different forms at μm and mm calcium. The major histocompatibility complex requires molecular weights around 2000 Da to produce antibodies, and 2000 Da polysialic oligomers will bind in these structures ...
