A Cycle-Based Formulation and Valid Inequalities for DC Power Transmission Problems with Switching
It is well-known that optimizing network topology by switching on and off transmission lines improves the efficiency of power delivery in electrical networks. In fact, the USA Energy Policy Act of 2005 (Section 1223) states that the U.S.

A novel metadata schema is introduced to address the sparsity of microstructure‐sensitive mechanical data. The design follows the material modeling workflow, as each run results in the definition of unique data objects. The schema includes categorical elements to ensure findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability (FAIR). This approach

Dirac constraints in field theory and exterior differential systems [PDF]
The usual treatment of a (first order) classical field theory such as electromagnetism has a little drawback: It has a primary constraint submanifold that arise from the fact that the dynamics is governed by the antisymmetric part of the jet variables.

Bioinspired Design of Isotropic Lattices with Tunable and Controllable Anisotropy
This study introduces nested isotropic lattices, integrating architectural elements like nesting orders and orientations inspired by bioarchitectures. The design enables tunable anisotropy across nine mono‐nest and twenty multi‐nest lattices with 252 parametric variations, demonstrating transitions from shear‐ to tensile‐compression‐dominant behaviors ...

Identification of linear multivariable systems from a single set of data by identification of observers with assigned real eigenvalues [PDF]
A formulation is presented for identification of linear multivariable from a single set of input-output data. The identification method is formulated with the mathematical framework of learning identifications, by extension of the repetition domain ...

Integer-quaternion formulation of Lambek's representation of fundamental particles and their interactions [PDF]
Lambek's unified classification of the elementary interaction-quanta of the ``Standard model'' is formulated in terms of the 24 units of the integer-quaternion ring, i.e., the tetrahedral group Q_{24}. An extension of Lambek's scheme to the octahedral group Q_{48} may enable to take all three generations of leptons and quarks into account, as well as ...

Using novel probe‐based metrics, this study evaluates lattice structures on criteria critical to cellular solid optimization. Triply‐periodic minimal surface (TPMS) lattices outperform other lattices, offering more predictable mechanical behavior in complex design spaces and, as a result, higher performance in optimized models.

Identification of linear systems by an asymptotically stable observer [PDF]
A formulation is presented for the identification of a linear multivariable system from single or multiple sets of input-output data. The system input-output relationship is expressed in terms of an observer, which is made asymptotically stable by an ...
