The standard solar model - Composition, opacities, and seismology

open access: bronzeThe Astrophysical Journal, 1989
High-precision standard solar models are used to investigate systematically the implications of current uncertainties in the interior radiative opacities for both the derivation of the helium content Y and the modeling of p-mode oscillation frequencies of the sun.

Single Diode Solar Cells—Improved Model and Exact Current–Voltage Analytical Solution Based on Lambert’s W Function

open access: yesSensors, 2022
There are three standard equivalent circuit models of solar cells in the literature—single-diode, double-diode, and triple-diode models. In this paper, first, a modified version of the single diode model, called the Improved Single Diode Model (ISDM), is

Relativistic equilibrium velocity distribution to improve standard solar models [PDF]

open access: greenarXiv, 2001
The current standard solar models can be improved by substituting the relativistic equilibrium velocity distribution for the Maxwellian velocity distribution. The relativistic equilibrium velocity distribution is close- fitting to the Maxwellian velocity distribution in the low-velocity part and substantially different from the Maxwellian velocity ...

Detecting beyond the standard model interactions of solar neutrinos in low-threshold dark matter detectors [PDF]

open access: hybridPhysical Review D, 2022
As low-threshold dark matter detectors advance in development, they will become sensitive to recoils from solar neutrinos which opens up the possibility to explore neutrino properties.

Seismic inversion of the solar entropy [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics, 2017
The Sun is the most constrained and well-studied of all stars. As a consequence, the physical ingredients entering solar models are used as a reference to study all other stars observed in the Universe. However, our understanding of the solar structure is still imperfect, as illustrated by the current debate on the heavy element abundances in the Sun ...

The Standard Solar Model and beyond

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2016
The Standard Solar Model (SSM) is an important reference in Astrophysics as the Sun stays today the most observed star. This model is used to predict the internal observables like neutrino fluxes and oscillation frequencies and consequently to validate its assumptions for its generalization to other stars.

Standard solar model

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1992
A set of solar models have been constructed, each based on a single modification to the physics of a reference solar model. In addition, a model combining several of the improvements has been calculated to provide a best solar model. Improvements were made to the nuclear reaction rates, the equation of state, the opacities, and the treatment of the ...

Reexamination of Standard Solar Model to the Solar Neutrino Problems [PDF]

open access: greenProgress of Theoretical Physics, 1997
We examine the calculation of the solar neutrino flux based on the standard solar model (SSM). It is found that the solar neutrino data (KAMIOKANDE experiment) can be well described by the SSM with careful employment of nuclear data of $^7Be (p, ) ^{8} B$.
