A Standby Redundant Model with Noninstantaneous Switchover
IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 1968This paper considers the case of a standby redundant system where the switchover is not instantaneous. The duration of time between the instant at which action is initiated on the standby subsystem in order to bring it to the active state and the instant at which it becomes operating standby is called switchover time, and is considered to be a random ...

Availability of Priority Standby Redundant Systems
IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 1971A priority standby system consisting of two repairable units is considered. One unit, the priority unit, is always in service except when it is failed. The standby unit is in service only for the duration of repair of the priority unit. Expressions are derived for the availability of such a system for both preemptive and nonpreemptive repair.

Standby Redundancy Optimization with Type-2 Fuzzy Lifetimes
2011Under the given system weight constraint, we consider the problem of maximizing the system lifetime and minimizing the system cost. The lifetimes of components in the system are characterized by type-2 fuzzy variables. The numbers of redundant elements of each components are the decision variables.

The Effect of Standby Redundancy in System’s Failure with Repair Maintenance
Operations Research, 1966Two models are considered in this paper with a view to make a theoretical study of the effect of standby redundancy on the time to failure of a system that is used intermittently and the units of which are subject to breakdowns and repairs. The models described in this paper differ only in the definition we make on system's failure. In the first model
