Existence of standing waves for quasi-linear Schrödinger equations on Tn
This paper is devoted to the study of the existence of standing waves for a class of quasi-linear Schrödinger equations on Tn with dimension n ≥ 3. By construction of a suitable Nash-Moser-type iteration scheme, we overcome the clusters of “small divisor”

Effect of ultrasonic standing waves on flotation bubbles. [PDF]
Ultrasonic flotation was an effective method to float fine coal. In this study, the effects of the standing waves with different frequencies on ultrasonic flotation were investigated.

Traveling-Standing Water Waves
We propose a new two-parameter family of hybrid traveling-standing (TS) water waves in infinite depth that evolve to a spatial translation of their initial condition at a later time.

Mesoscale standing wave imaging [PDF]
AbstractStanding wave (SW) microscopy is a method that uses an interference pattern to excite fluorescence from labelled cellular structures and produces high‐resolution images of three‐dimensional objects in a two‐dimensional dataset. SW microscopy is performed with high‐magnification, high‐numerical aperture objective lenses, and while this results ...

Standing waves in the plenum of an open jet wind tunnel: Resonance and self-excited oscillation
The low-frequency pressure pulsations in a large low-speed open jet wind tunnel were studied using a 1:20 scaled model wind tunnel. It was found that plane pressure standing waves existed in all three directions of the wind tunnel’s plenum.

Ultra‐low frequency (ULF) wave observations across the heliosphere often rely on the sign of correlations between plasma (density/pressure) and magnetic field perturbations to distinguish between fast and slow magnetosonic modes. However, the assumptions

About the mechanism of switching between standing and traveling waves is accompanied by a halving of the wavelength [PDF]
We suggest a possible mechanism for the transition from standing waves with a wavelength SW to traveling waves with a half wavelength: TW λSW / 2. This phenomenon was observed in the Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction dispersed in a water-in-oil aerosol OT ...

Dynamic response and liquefaction potential of porous seabed induced by partial standing ocean waves
The analysis of ocean wave-induced dynamic response of a porous seabed is particularly important for coastal and geotechnical engineers when designing and constructing maritime structures. In this study, an analytical solution is presented to analyze the
