ABSTRACT Overplacement, a form of overconfidence characterized by the distorted belief that one is better than others, is considered a key driver of nascent entrepreneurship. The entrepreneurship literature typically associates entrepreneurial overplacement with negative outcomes and attributes it to erroneous information processing. The potential role

The Stanley Conjecture Revisited
In the seminal work of Stanley, several conjectures were made on the structure of Littlewood-Richardson coefficients for the multiplication of Jack symmetric functions. Motivated by recent results of Alexandersson and the present author, we postulate that a `windowing' property holds for all such Jack L-R coefficients.

Abstract Background Cocoa, derived from Theobroma cacao, is a popular food ingredient used to produce chocolate. Cocoa is rich in polyphenols and human and laboratory model studies have indicated that cocoa and chocolate can mitigate chronic inflammatory conditions.

Plasma Glucosylsphingosine in GBA1 E365K, N409S, and L483P Heterozygous Mutation Carriers
Abstract Background GBA1 encodes the lysosomal enzyme glucocerebrosidase, with key substrates that include glucosylceramide and glucosylsphingosine. The E365K variant is the most common variant in GBA1 that is associated with Parkinson's disease (PD) but is not associated with Gaucher disease.

ABSTRACT This paper explores how we might integrate local traditional values into a systems approach for analyzing and maximizing localization in the context of foreign aid. The paper situates localization and its operationalization in the older and broader literature on the political economy of foreign aid.

A Framework for Understanding and Evaluating Localization: The Case of HelpAge International
ABSTRACT Many transnational non‐governmental organizations (TNGOs) are reevaluating their organizational forms and norms as they pursue localization. Localization itself is a contested and multifaceted concept, however, complicating the design, implementation, and evaluation of localization efforts.

ABSTRACT Localization is the process of adapting and developing international aid to suit local contexts. Thus, localization involves paying attention to the relations between organizations and local actors receiving development aid. One key question that has not, as yet, been satisfactorily answered is how to collectively organize localization to ...

On Plethysm Conjectures of Stanley and Foulkes: The $2 \times n$ Case [PDF]
We prove Stanley's plethysm conjecture for the $2 \times n$ case, which composed with the work of Black and List provides another proof of Foulkes conjecture for the $2 \times n$ case. We also show that the way Stanley formulated his conjecture, it is false in general, and suggest an alternative formulation.

Abstract Human–wildlife interactions are becoming more common as we progress through the Anthropocene. People tend to feed wildlife more regularly as it is often popularised by social media and can counteract their disconnect from the natural world. These interactions impact wildlife behaviour, feeding ecology and zoonotic transmission dynamics. Due to

Counterexamples to the poset conjectures of Neggers, Stanley, and Stembridge [PDF]
We provide the first counterexamples to Neggers’ 1978 conjecture and Stembridge’s 1997 conjecture that the generating functions for descents and peaks in the linear extensions of naturally labeled posets should have all real zeros. We also provide minimum-sized counterexamples to a generalization of the Neggers conjecture due to Stanley that was ...
