Antimicrobial Resistance of Staphylococcus sp. Isolated from Cheeses. [PDF]

open access: yesAnimals (Basel), 2021
S. aureus and some species of coagulase-negative staphylococci, including S. chromogenes and S. simulans, commonly cause intramammary infections. However, little attention was paid to the antimicrobial resistance of these species with respect to their occurrence in dairy products, for example, popular sheep and goat cheeses made from unpasteurized milk.

Staphylococcus caledonicus sp. nov. and Staphylococcus canis sp. nov. isolated from healthy domestic dogs [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, 2021
Two strains, H8/1Tand H16/1AT, of Gram-stain-positive, coagulase-negative staphylococci were isolated from separate healthy domestic dogs in Scotland. Both strains were genome sequenced and their inferred DNA–DNA hybridisation indicates that H8/1Tand H16/1ATrepresent two novel species of the genusStaphylococcus.

Staphylococcus SP. resistentes em casos de piodermite superficial canina / Resistant Staphylococcus SP. in cases of canine piodermitis [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Development, 2022

Staphylococcus ratti sp. nov. Isolated from a Lab Rat [PDF]

open access: yesPathogens, 2022
Staphylococci from the Staphylococcus intermedius-Staphylococcus hyicus species group include numerous animal pathogens and are an important reservoir of virulence and antimicrobial resistance determinants. Due to their pathogenic potential, they are possible causative agents of zoonoses in humans; therefore, it is important to address the properties ...

Staphylococcus lugdunensis sp. nov. and Staphylococcus schleiferi sp. nov., Two Species from Human Clinical Specimens [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Systematic Bacteriology, 1988
Deoxyribonucleic acid relatedness studies (S1 nuclease method) showed that 23 unidentified Staphylococcus strains form two homogeneous genomic species related 1 to 9% to 24 type strains representing known Staphylococcus species. These new species were named Staphylococcus lugdunensis and Staphylococcus schleiferi. Strains of S.

Staphylococcus succinus sp. nov., isolated from Dominican amber [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Systematic Bacteriology, 1998
Two bacterial isolates, designated AMG-D1T and AMG-D2, were recovered from 25-35-million-year-old Dominican amber. AMG-D1T and AMG-D2 biochemically most closely resemble Staphylococcus xylosus; they differ physiologically from other staphylococci.

Draft Genome Sequence of Ureolytic Environmental Isolate Staphylococcus sp. NA309. [PDF]

open access: yesGenome Announc, 2016
ABSTRACT We report the 2.7 Mb draft genome sequence of Staphylococcus sp. NA309 isolated from poultry litter. The isolate was a dominant member of the cultivable aerobic bacteria identified to have ureolytic activity, responsible for ammonia generation in poultry litter residue.

Closed genome sequences of Staphylococcus lloydii sp. nov. and Staphylococcus durrellii sp. nov. isolated from captive fruit bats (Pteropus livingstonii)

open access: yesInternational Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, 2021
The increasing availability of whole genome sequencing of bacteria has accelerated the discovery of novel species which may not have been easy to discriminate using standard phenotypic or single gene methods. Phylogenomic analysis of genome sequences from a collection of coagulase-negative staphylococcal species isolated from captive fruit bats ...

Staphylococcus piscifermentans sp. nov., from Fermented Fish in Thailand [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Systematic Bacteriology, 1992
New coagulase-negative staphylococci were isolated from fermented fish in Thailand. These organisms were differentiated from other Staphylococcus species on the basis of DNA relatedness and biochemical characteristics. Staphylococcus piscifermentans sp. nov. is described, and the type strain is strain SK03 (= NRIC 1817 = JCM 6057 = TISTR 824).
