Mechanical Axis Following Staple Epiphysiodesis for Limb-Length Inequality

Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery - Series A, 2009
Staple epiphysiodesis is an option for the treatment of limb-length discrepancies, but it is not without complications. The purpose of this study was to review the outcomes of staple epiphysiodesis, including changes in the mechanical axis. The study included patients who underwent, between 1990 and 2005, staple epiphysiodesis of the femur or tibia, or ...

Modular helix stabilization via alkenyl butylcarbamate staples: effects of staple length, stereochemistry, and directionality

Bioorganic and Medicinal Chemistry
Peptide stapling is a widely used approach for stabilizing α-helical peptides, improving their structural integrity, proteolytic resistance, and therapeutic potential. Here, we present a novel stapling strategy employing alkenyl butylcarbamate cross-links formed via ring-closing metathesis (RCM).

6—STAPLE-LENGTH VARIATION IN GREASY WOOL

Journal of the Textile Institute, 1972
Estimates are reported for the variance of staple length within bales for each of 33 bales taken from separate sale lots of skirted classed merino wool. These variances range from 0.59 to 2.90 cm2, with an average of 1.53 cm2. Variances between bales, within sale lots of merino wool, were small and not significant.
