A cognitive hierarchy model of learning in networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This paper proposes a method for estimating a hierarchical model of bounded rationality in games of learning in networks. A cognitive hierarchy comprises a set of cognitive types whose behavior ranges from random to substantively rational.

Characterising and recognising game-perfect graphs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Consider a vertex colouring game played on a simple graph with $k$ permissible colours. Two players, a maker and a breaker, take turns to colour an uncoloured vertex such that adjacent vertices receive different colours.

Inequality and Network Formation Games [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This paper addresses the matter of inequality in network formation games. We employ a quantity that we are calling the Nash Inequality Ratio (NIR), defined as the maximal ratio between the highest and lowest costs incurred to individual agents in a Nash ...

Decisions in the Basketball Endgame: A Downside of the Three-Point Revolution

open access: yesGames
Von Neumann’s minimax theorem defines optimal strategic unpredictability in zero-sum games. Empirical evidence from professional sports has been interpreted as positive behavioral evidence for minimax. In this article, we analyze the strategic optimality

The Evolutionary Price of Anarchy: Locally Bounded Agents in a Dynamic Virus Game [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The Price of Anarchy (PoA) is a well-established game-theoretic concept to shed light on coordination issues arising in open distributed systems. Leaving agents to selfishly optimize comes with the risk of ending up in sub-optimal states (in terms of ...

Hva Star Wars og Game of Thrones kan lære oss om krig

open access: yesInternasjonal Politikk
Faget internasjonale relasjoner (IR) byr på en rekke teorier og modeller som kan gjøre verden og årsaker til krig litt mer begripelige. Men hvordan kan man gjøre teoriene mer forståelige?

Public goods and decay in networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We propose a simple behavioral model to analyze situations where (1) a group of agents repeatedly plays a public goods game within a network structure and (2) each agent only observes the past behavior of her neighbors, but is affected by the decisions ...

Maker-Breaker domination number [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The Maker-Breaker domination game is played on a graph $G$ by Dominator and Staller. The players alternatively select a vertex of $G$ that was not yet chosen in the course of the game.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Game Theoretic Formation of a Centrality Based Network

open access: yes, 2012
We model the formation of networks as a game where players aspire to maximize their own centrality by increasing the number of other players to which they are path-wise connected, while simultaneously incurring a cost for each added adjacent edge.
