Kontsevich and Takhtajan construction of star product on the Poisson Lie group GL(2)

open access: yes, 2001
Comparing the star product defined by Takhtajan on the Poisson-Lie group GL(2) and any star product calculated from the Kontsevich's graphs (any ''K-star product'') on the same group, we show, by direct computation, that the Takhtajan star product on GL ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

The Relationship Between Perceived Workplace Bureaucracies, Self-Efficacy and Job Motivation Over the COVID-19 Pandemic

open access: yesSAGE Open
Workplace bureaucracies impact many areas of an employee’s working life. High levels of perceived bureaucracy can diminish employees’ job motivation, satisfaction, and performance.

The higher topological complexity of subcomplexes of products of spheres---and related polyhedral product spaces

open access: yes, 2015
We construct "higher" motion planners for automated systems whose space of states are homotopy equivalent to a polyhedral product space $Z(K,\{(S^{k_i},\star)\})$, e.g.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

POLYMER MEAN SPHERICAL APPROXIMATION FOR THE FLUID OF FLEXIBLE HARD-SPHERE YUKAWA STAR MOLECULES

open access: yesCondensed Matter Physics, 2002
An extension of the product-reactant Ornstein-Zernike approach (PROZA) for the fluid of flexible star molecules is proposed and the corresponding version of the mean spherical approximation (MSA), the so-called polymer MSA (PMSA), is formulated.
